You fucking know, I post it enough
Fuck. I've had something in my eye all day and it's been killing my then I just touched my eye after eating KFC which had hot wings with it and it's made it almost unbearable, The pain, the pain, I know it's only a minor pain that will pass but it's fucking killing me. Gonna lay on my side and hope that whatever is in my eye will fall out naturally and actually before that I'm gonna wash my hands to get any hot wing residue off them so I don't get more in my eyes.

PAIN PAIN

p.s feel free to post your stories of personal pain in this thread.

The only pain I suffer from is Sciatica.
Doesn't bother me when I'm just sitting around but if I walk continuously for longer than 5-10 minutes then I am in absolutely agony.
My right leg starts off tingling from top to toe and if I carry on walking my leg goes numb like when you get a dead leg when someone punches yr leg.
It gets so bad I just can't walk any further and have to stop and sit down. Stairs are a killer also so lucky I live in a flat.
Its the one thing that makes me feel like I am getting older.

that reminds me of the time when my sister made me hang around with the swp. We were on some demo at the end of the 80s. prolly to do with the poll tax or the rise of facism in europe. Birmingham city council had for some reason planted a load of hot red chillis in them council flower pots round the library. i pulled one apart and then rubbed my eye. OUCH! thing was the sun was blazing too and it made my eye burn even more. Oh for the days of being red to the very core.

STRUGGLE! SOLIDARITY! SOCIALISM! - that's militant labour though. (she ran away from the swp and they sent a richard madely lookie likey round to see why she hadn't been attending in the same way you would get pestered by the mormons )

Is psychic pain allowed?

Had some rough times with arthritis - constant pain fair wears you down so I empathise with folk living with it.

Believe Shambles has a bit of joint trouble too - if you're reading this, try getting a mouse for your laptop to combat that rsi/nerve dealie - I was getting pain and numb fingers after getting a netbook - using the mouse, and typing with the pads of the fingers & not the fingertips worked for me.

Arthristis is a terrible disease, so many sufferers :(

I know compared to others suffering its nothing but I've got incredible intense all over toothache from bruxism. I don't grind, I clench (said the actress to the bishop). On the plus side I'm not eating much so its an effective diet, I'm down to under 8 stone.

I've got constant nerve/neuralgia pain in my face located in the trigeminal nerve (sinus) area which comes and goes. Get random stabs of pain almost electric like where my face actually twitches and shakes briefly. Then there is a fairly constant dull burning pain there a lot of the time. Got various meds to keep it under control but its really quite bizarre, not heard of anyone my age having this sort of thing before.

Thanks b&w it is quite rough indeed. Yeah it was diagnosed as 'a form of Neuralgia' at first but its most likely Trigeminal Neuralgia now the way its developed. Does have that unfortunate nickname too - luckily I am responding really well to the medications for it. Wouldn't be surprised if it was stress induced with me too, had a crazy series of traumatic events in the years leading up to it developing.

Same as inso suffered from trigmenial-neuralgia for about 8-9 years and im only 23, at first i thought it was just headaches until i actually had just a headache and realised wtf!?. Doctors didnt take me seriously till about 3-4 years ago and put it down to my cannabis
consumption (fucking dicks
considering it definetly helps). Ended up addicted to fentanyl 2 years ago from self medicating as all i was give was 30/500 co-codamol (like that would even touch it) and am now using heroin and tegretol to keep it under wraps! Although i find frozen objects to be the best! Extremely sore from ice burns and the like but nowhere near as bad as the actual neuralgia itself! Anyway im rambling. Hope you guys in pain aint in too much pain. Peace

Hey boabby, damn that sounds rough, really feel for ya there its an awful level of pain for anyone. Standard opiate painkillers on their own do fuck all for neuralgia pain, something to do with the mechanism behind it. Before I was diagnosed as as this type of pain I took 100mg tramadol 4x a day and it barely took the edge off. Gabapentin has been a lifesaver for me, on a pretty high dose of that all day with occasional tramadol if needed for flair ups and I can function just about. Its still bad though so I'm looking into some other meds

Ah, the chance for quick moan! I've been waking up with pretty bad joint pain in my fingers and toes for the last few weeks now so have had the test for rheumatoid arthritis....fingers just about crossed for a negative result. Have got mild scoliosis too and chronic back trouble which was a factor in me heroin use but have been attending to it productively of late. Got a rx for pregabalin which seems to be working a treat so far although it's definitely had an odd effect on my vision and might well be a major reason why use put on 2 STONE recently!!8o

Apart from that, I'm pretty good thank you. Just a bit of existential angst here and there but the less said the better really.

Argh, that sounds horrible fella, sorry to hear that. Out of interest, do you find the Gabapentin affects your vision at all?

Ho ho ho. Last week was terrible but is now only residual pain from two biopsies, leaving me feeling as if I've had a steel-toe cap boot up my arse, pissing blood and, even better, ejaculating blood. Bet you can't do that. And while this was at its most intense last week I managed to get ache-y flu for 4 days and a trapped nerve in my neck.

I'm not even going into the 'nerve-pain' which, after a fucked up hep jab 4 years ago, has left me unable to walk normally up any incline without suffering severe cramps in my feet and calfs/calves (one of them). Any incline at all. Gabapentin was a huge fail btw Inso, glad its working for you.

Ho ho ho.

How very handy - a thread to mop up the worst of me frequent Gibberings whingings :D

Woke up today and - just for a few minutes - thought me wrist/arm/hand thing had gone away. After making a cuppa coffee, a CWE and rolling a cig I now know it hasn't. Does seem to have eased up a fair bit though. Am guessing I didn't sleep on it last night. And I definitely didn't lean on it whilst night-weeing like I did the night before (*shudders*). Will see how today goes and make a docs appointment later if it follows the usual pattern of getting worse through the day.

That aside, I must say I really feel for y'all with neuragia. Have never had it (not longterm anyway) and hopefully never will. Is notoriously agonising and hard to treat. Must be hellish :(<3

I may have an inkling of how it feels as I did get an infection in on of me facial nerves a few years back. Hurt like nothing on Earth but was mercifully relatively brief. After a few days of unfeasible pain it built to a crescendo one night - by far the worst level of sustained pain I've ever had - and when MamaSham saw me the next morning she thought I'd had a stroke in the night. The other kind of stroke. Whole infected side of me face had dropped, was slurring when speaking, had to physically pick me fukkin lip up to hold food or drink in me mouth to stop it drooling out. Was horrid. But did gradually improve over the next few months. Still have partial paralysis on one side of me face but only becomes very obvious when on certain drugs. I quite literally look two-faced on some things. Also has the weird side-effect that me beard grows twice as fast on one side of me chops than t'other. And I can't make me eyebrows dance anymore. A minor loss that last, but by a bizarre quirk my ex-fiance used to get really turned on by a quizzically-raised eyebrow. We splt up not long after... but possibly more for other reasons. Lack of hot eyebrow action was surely a contributing factor though :D

Will save moaning about me bad back for another post ;)

EDIT: Ejaulating blood, SHM?!? Didn't know that came as a bonus in your situation. "Blimey" barely covers it really... but... blimey 8o

My six year old son hurt his shoulder at taekwondo last thursday and only got it x rayed today where they found he had fractured his collar bone. He refused to take any painkillers because it tastes yucky, but he is more pissed off that his sister is breaking boards an he has to wait at least 4 weeks before he can start training again.

The only pain I have is the aching in my heart because I can't give him a cuddle until the weekend. :(

Very slightly, yes. I sometimes notice that things are a little blurred or out of focus around the edges. Its not a major side effect though.

That's shit it didn't work SHM, what about pregabalin/lyrica? Its supposed to be a bit better

GP's given me Cymbalta (duloxetine) but haven't been able to try it yet due to biopsy etc. Will try next week. Don't believe it will work for a second.

had a disc slip in my neck while on holiday once. I woke up and turned my head to check the clock... Worst pain I have ever been in by far, tears streaming down my face and I was stuck in bed for the day. Had a doctor come over who applied some warm packs to the area and thank god the disc slipped back and I was fine again that evening :)

C'mon man, this thread's about PAIN....you know, like if you eat a KFC then touch your eye...

My ex-fiance did summat like that to her back. Dunno how or even exactly what it was but man was she in pain. Couldn't stand or straighten up at all. Had to call an emergency doctor to the flat. Gave her an injection (steroid of some description, I think) into the backside. The look of relief on her face a few seconds later was a thing of beauty. Doctor barely got out the house without a thankyou blowie in fact. Yes, she really did feel that much better.
