Testing with sulfuric acid alone

As we all probably now Marquis Reagent is 9 parts concentrated sulfuric acid (H2SO4) and 1 part formaldehyde (CH2O). What I suppose not everyone knows is that many substances give color reactions to sulfuric acid alone.
For instance, in the archive I've stumbled upon a topic were one user reported that:

MDMA will produce a purple--> black with Marquis and a purple/red with sulphuric acid. MDA will produce a purple with sulphuric alone.

Also I can't find where but I heard that with regular amphetamine sulfuric acid will give orange reaction?

Can anyone confirm any of this info?
With the fact that marquis test has no reaction for PMA can we assume that if your pill won't change in color when in touch with sulfuric acid we can throw it away as we will know this aint no MD, or speed?

Here where I live I can't really get formaldehyde easily, all testing kits like EZtest ant etc are insanely expensive and I would have to wait for a long time to get them shipped to me. So, dear bluelighters , in the name of harm reductions and despite the fact that testing pills and powders with real testing kits is safer I think you all realise that testing with sulphuric acid alone is still better than nothing. So can anyone confirm any color reactions with sulfuric alone? I will try soon go get some of it and do some tests and maybe provide some color reactions so all you fellows in the world who cant get test kits easily could feel a little bit safer raving in the future using just sulfuric acid which is widely available everywhere.

I'm sorry if by some kind of mistake something like this thread already have been talked in and out about, I just can't find any good info about it.

Some of the other suppliers kits are not that expensive - one in the US which encourages people to be safe when they are dancing sells kits for 20$. Surely if you can afford pills you can afford 20$ on a test kit?

Not sure about how pure acid would work though.

yeah but 20bucks for the test + shipping costs even more and you have to wait for the whole month... Don't forget I'm not just trying to save money and time, if this way of testing would really work at least as efficient as a test for SOME substances this would be great. Think of all the people who don't test their stuff just because they don't want to spend money, wait for it to arrive, and even don't have a credit card... :D In some places in the world which are filled with shady pills most of the people don't test their stuff just because of those factors :(

I'd be interested in finding out more about this as well. Did that user state if he used highly concentrated sulphuric acid or more diluted acid? 36% Formaldehyde is available for sale in simple drug stores here. It'd be great if you could make large quantities of Marquis reagent for a fraction of the price of those premade test kits!

Formaldehyde and sulphuric acid are almost dirty cheap if you calculate how much of marquis you can make out of 1l of both. 36% sulphuric acid doesnt work at all if intended for reagent use (tested). One would need the highly concentrated.

All right so maybe someone finds this useful. Reactions of GC/MS verified compounds with concentrated H2SO4 bought from Sigma Aldrich.

2C-P - no reaction, yellow tinge (could be due to impurities)

5-meo-dalt - yellow

etizolam - no reaction, yellow tinge

2c-b - no color reaction, fizzes

4-ho-met - transparent yellow

2C-D - no reaction

2c-t-7 - orange-reddish

NM2AI - fizzes, transparent light pink

MPA - fizzes, light brown

5-eapb - fizzes, dark blue/violet, black

5-mapb - fizzes, dark blue/violet, black

ethylone- fizzes, yellow-brown

The following haven't been verified via GC/MS cause they lack reference.

5-apb-nbome - light violet

bk-mdda-2 - yellow
