As far as why it happens, Heroin enters the bloodstream and the taste is excreted from the blood vessels within your mouth,so yeah that's about as specific as it's going to get, but as to why it tastes like it does, most likely has to do with the chemicals that were used to acetylate it, I could be wrong on that, but I would think we could get a little more in depth of why it has the taste that it does. I'm not 100% positive but I think that taste comes from the 'AA' used..Greatest taste in the world probably because of the amount of available dopamine the brain associates it with

So do you guys and gals on heroin all get the same metallic taste, it's subjective for sure but could you all describe it as metallic?
Ice always tastes the same, I've just finished a 9 day run (last 400mg shot was 36hrs ago and it burnt the inside walls of that vein all the way up my bicep but alas I succumbed to a tolerance I had never previously suffered from in all my years as a crank head - fuck today's meth, and I guarantee this glass which was the best of a good lot (3 seperarate batches all of which got you high on 50mg initially)
And the taste was consistent with all three which were all very close in quality but the absolute glass gear from Asia was the best, and it was just that little bit more of the same. I can't really call it a taste as such but rather like a mild 'chemical' vapor being pushed through my lungs and out my airways.
It's different with D-amp, the taste is absolutely determined by the methods and or the precursors used to get you to your final product........which if done correctly has more legs and a way better all encompassing rush than certainly today's meth/glass/ice found in Australia based on my recent research.
The gear we used to make would have you dry reaching just holding a bag with half a gram In it, hence why the guy holding it is holding it out the window of the car he's traveling in.
