I am currently on 20mg of Citalopram for anxiety & have been for around 8 months now. I've thought long & hard about it & have decided to do a "one off" session with some Mephedrone.
I have done as much research as possible into interactions between the two & have come to the conclusion should I wish to take Mephedrone, I will need to have significantly lower levels of Citalopram in my system to reduce the risk of serotonin syndrome. I don't think it is really practical to go for having none in my system due to the problems that will arise from that itself. I have found accounts of people using Mephedrone whilst on SSRIs without any sort of taper, but I do not believe this to be a wise course of action. I am also aware of the combined risks of any ssri discontinuation syndrome & comedown but do not believe this will be too much of an issue since Citalopram has a slightly longer half-life. Before anyone thinks to mention it, I am aware that the effects I achieve may well be diminished due to my long term use of the SSRI.
To get to the nitty gritty, Citalopram has a half-life of 35 hours. By my estimation, missing two doses prior & one the day after would be enough to alleviate the risks taken. Therefore I think my proposed method would be to reduce to 10mg for 2-3 days to lower the active dose, skip 2 days completely taking the Mephedrone on the 2nd day & then miss another dose the day after before recommencing use of the SSRI.
To my layman's eyes, this seems a good proposal but is there anything I might be missing here?
If anyone has any experience with SSRIs & Mephedrone in general, I'd also be interested to hear some feedback. (I've already read what I can find via the search engine)
