edit (added 2-9-13): TLDR:

7g phenibut /day for 1st 2 months
3600mb gabapentin / day for the 2nd months (so 7g /day phenibut in 3 mo. all together)
quit gabapentin, waited 2 weeks, then tapered down to ~4g phenibut in about a week
stopped phenibut cold turkey, and took about 7g/day name brand etizalam for 3 weeks
now prescribed clonazepem 5mg/day for a week, with a reduction of 1mg /week

i was wondering if anyone thinks my taper schedule is starting too high as i have mininmal to no history of benzo addiction although, i've used gabapentin and alcohol quite often.
i also take 100mg metoprolol /day. sorry if op was confusing, and thanks!

i'll try to make this short.
about 3 months ago, i started taking about 7g a day over the course of 2 months.
.for one month during that and after that i was also taking gabapentin in doses of aound 3600mb / day.
i stopped taking the phenibut about 3 weeks ago, after order 110 1mg mouse dissolving name brand etizolam.
i took all those along with gabapentin for the last three weeks, then stopped the gabapentin a little less than a week ago.
i was feeling really bad after my last etizolam dose so i went to see my doctor and explained the situation but told him i was taking about 6mg of xanax a day, instead of 7-8mg of etizolam, since i figured he wouldn't know what etizalam is.
i am now prescribed 5mg clonazapem /day for 1 week, 4mg 2nd week, 3mg 3rd, week, 4mg 5th week and then talk to him about it from there.

i've used benzos in the past, such as a two week long phenazepam binge, high amounts but never for long periods at a time, and have never noticed any withdrawal from them
i was hoping to get off all drugs as soon as possible, so what do you guys think of my doctor's tapering schedule?
i just wouldn't want to drag this out or become more tolerant than needed, and i'm planning on moving in two months, so i was hoping to be off them by then.
i currently take no other drugs besides weed, but have been taking adderall the last year and a half, as well as gabapentin on and off.
thanks for any advice!

Well your already taking and have taken a large amount of short acting benzo's plus long acting benzo's. If you didn't have the tolerance I would of suggested to ease those withdrawals with gabapentin but.....I hate dragging things out too. And I am on 1 mg a day and I just quite taking it cuz I got sick of the addiction. I would suggest that you take your doc advice and just go along with his/her plans because none of here are qualified to tell you what to do.

thanks for your post, anyone else have any ideas? i just don't want to needlessly be taking more benzos than i can avoid, haha.

thanks for all the responses! so i decided that i might not even have taken benzos long enough to have a benzo addiction, and the klonopin taper as prescribed seems like it will only make me more addicted. so i decided to just get as much gabapentin as possible, and take that for like 7-14 days, and then just cold turkey the gabapentin (which i've done tons of times and isn't that bad). tomorrow or the next day i guess i will find out if i need benzos too. how long does it take for the withdrawal to kick in?

so on Monday I decided just to take 1mg clonazepam and stop cold turkey, and then i immediately started taking high amounts of gabapentin every day since then, like all day. i also have been smoking weed all day. so far i feel perfectly fine, and actually high a lot of the time. does this mean i don't have a benzo dependence, even after taking them for 4 months in high amounts in total? or could the gabapentin be completely blocking any benzo withdrawal symptoms? thanks!

so how long will it take for the benzo withdrawal to kick in at the latest? i just want to know if i am going to have any w/d or not. and even if i were taking high doses of gabapentin, i would still know i was in w/d right? thanks!

Right now I am planning on going cold turkey from high doses of gabapentin, using 2mg klonopin/day + 1mg xanax/day for 3 days, as well as 20mg etizolam in total as needed for up to 5 days. Hopefully this will get me through the gabapentin w/d without getting benzo dependent.

Also, is it possible that I am benzo dependent even though I haven't had any w/d symptoms (while using gabapentin too) since I took 2mg klonopin as my last benzo taken, on monday at 2pm pst? Thanks!

tomorrow i am going to start my plan of stopping gabapentin and starting 2mg/day clonazepam and maybe 1mg/day alprazolam for 3 days, then stop both of those. during and after the 3 days i will also have etizolam available if necessary. i have been taking high amounts of gabapentin and weed since monday and still feel pretty good, so i think that this will work out. any last ideas before i start? thanks for all the posts!

I'm trying almost the opposite - i have crazy benzo habit (some days up to 1000mg Diazepam per diem) and have had to reduce drastically, to 40mg per diem. My doc prescribed me gabapentin too, and i have phenibut. I went through about 900x10mg pills Diaz this month alone) and felt i have to reduce, to retain sanity (the blur). I have access to anything - so any recommendations will be taken into account - citation preferred (if u can)
i don't mean pharmaceuticals - i mean natural alternatives pls
