I'm currently on a break from weed to try and get more motvation, find a job, all the regular reasons.

Anyway, I have been contemplating why I was smoking regulary. The cons of regular pot use are that it does make me unmotivated and at times causes some anxiety, social awkwardness and paranoia.. but at the same time I love smoking to get away from the day to day stresses and it allows for some quality introspection. For me weed is a very individualistic experience if that makes sense.

After a week off smoking weed, I miss it even though some of the effects probably are occasionally detrimental to my wellbeing. I am just wondering how many tokers out there take the negative aspects of smoking in stride and focus on the positive effects ive mentioned?

Well, I look at it as its safer then 90% of the legal drugs on the market. And after a long day it is nice to spark up a fatty.

Whenever I get the anxiety/paranoia which seems to be happening a lot as of lately not smoking seems like such a good idea. But then when I spark up the first fatty of the day I could never see me quittin.

I think moderation is the key. No one should have to quit herb forever, but using maybe once to twice a month would keep the negatives at bay while still allowing for some enjoyment. Despite saying this, I find it very hard to control how much I smoke. it's just so good:!!

I sure do.

Been smoking too long (7-8 years) to think it's all giggles and munchies. So I vape whenever I can to limit damage to my lungs, don't smoke before social functions to keep the anxiety down, etc.

It's not heroin, but there's still plenty of room for harm reduction.

yo I know what y mean - there's a whole bunch of threads about cutting down on greenery consumption - any kind of compulsive substance abuse/use is usually directly linked to things ya dont wanna remember/feel about - most likely past issues.

I don't think smoking up to relax after a stressful day is a good thing...coz that can develop into an addiction where you cant relax after a hard day WITHOUT a fatty, so I dont do this.
Now I choose to smoke cupla times a month...this month Im going to smoke like 4/5 times in the past month simply coz Im taking another break (last year I took a break for 8 months to sort my shit out) until I have saved up my depoist to move to a new place.

A week off? you gotta LONG way to go hombre, keep strong though - ride it, dont let it ride you and you'll be laughing - now when I smoke buddha I get SO high off like one fatty for hours, tolerance drops off heavy after a week of smoking nothing.

Peace

Agreed, although I do control how much I smoke. If the negatives ever became significant I would stop. I can live without cannabis. So far though, the only negative effect of cannabis that I have had is barfing (which was not so bad by itself, just annoying to have to clean up).
