what do you take pre work out and post workout. clean workout.. workout on empty stomach or protein and slow carb.. what to do after workout.. 285 lbs.. 41 yrs. 27 percent fat... healthy and strong
I workout early in the morning, so a protein shake with instant oats, and creatine and either jack3d, superpump or NO Xplode. then after a protein shake and a gatorade with creatine. and then an hour later breakfast 4 eggs and a bowl of oatmeal.
I find that my best workouts are early in the evening when I've had a good 3-4 meals in me...I eat some form of complex carb before and immediately after training...
Preworkout I take Jack3d which is the best NO supplement on the market (someone prove me wrong) and I drink a creatine matrix formular during my workout (gaspari nutrition SIZEON)....I workout for 90 minutes and am currently doing 45 minutes of cardio EVERY day so I need to have an intraworkout drink.
It really depends when you work out. For having such a high bf% Im tempted to say go on an empty stomach as long as having low blood sugar doesn't kill your workouts.
Post workout I'd have something like 30g protein and 60g carbs. I usually use sugars but you might want to get some powdered oats or something a bit more complex (brown rice even).
Really a lot depends on your diet at the moment. If my bf was that high then I'd be running a CKD or something and so your carb intake would be dictated by that. Whats your goals at the moment?

do you put the oatmeal in the shake? I've been adding a 3/4 cup oatmeal in my post workout shakes and letting it sit in my fridge until i get home..you gotta sort of eat and drink it at the same time.
