last night i took an orange alien sublingually, and shortly after i noticed there were two fat dark red bumps on the top of my tongue. the veins on bottom didnt look swollen, just on the top. its been about 20 hours since this happened, and the swellings gone down but hasnt disappeared completely. just wondering if this has happened to anyone else? i was a little freaked out and thought my veins would explode, they were really swollen until i went to sleep. the pictures are what my tongue looks like now. sorry for the bad quality, but if you look on the sides of my tongue ring, you can see the dark parts where its swollen

Sublingual administration with pills isn't recommended for this very reason - the pill could have any binder in them. I think I read either on here or on /mdma/ of something similar happening to someone who took a pill sublingually. It will heal given time.

Wow, I've never heard of that. I would have been really freaked out had my tongue looked like that. What causes that? Is it an allergic reaction? If so would taking an antihistamine such as benadryl help with the swelling?

i was a bit worried, but i didnt spend too much time thinking about it. ive taken pills under my tongue a few times before and thats never happened, and these didnt have anything in them that i havent had, so idk if it was an allergic reaction. the swellings almost gone now, but theres still dark spots that kinda look like bruises

I never take pills in this way - the lining in your mouth is so sensative and can be burnt. Rinsing your mouth with salty water or dispersable painkiller will reduce the swelling.

yeah, I"m with bearlove. give it a salt water rinse.

I do that anytime I have any kind of mouth problems. hurt tooth, sores on the inside of my cheek (I tend to chew the inside of my cheeks, that and chemotherapy causes some).

I also use the Biotene mouthwash, and I have the biotene toothpaste, but I rarely use them together, because then I'm drooling most of the day. but the biotene mouthwash might be beneficial in this situation.
