Okay, so first off, I'm rxed 180mg morphine a day and 50mg a day oxy (percs) and my stuff got stolen so I've had to get by on subs for the past 4 days or so. The first day I took 16mg, the other days, including this morning, I took 8mg. I'm supposed to be switching over to the Fent patches tomorrow, (I"m assumming 50mcg/hr based on charts I've seen online). I took the last 8mg dose at around 11:00am and will wait at LEAST 24 hours before I try the patches. My question is: should I wait even longer? I can usually wait 24 hrs and take my normal dose of morphine ect and be fine, but I've never had fent before and my dr is rxing me a two week supply to try it and see if I like it better than the MS Contins. Also, anyone have any experience in switching before? Is fent better or worse? Is it euphoric? Better pain reliever? I'd like all the info I can get on it, from personal experience, and using them properly as rxed if possible. I take my morphine and oxy orally and I'll be wearing the patches, not eating them or smoking them or whatnot. Thanks in advance!

24 hours is not long enough. The good thing is you will not feel pain either way. The sub will kill the pain until it rides out of your body at which point you will start to feel like shit (withdrawal) and can take the fent to feel better. You usually need at least 2 days to fully feel effects of opiates after sub and you would need even longer if youve been taking about one a day for four days. I would say give it three days? They publish crap all the time about half lives of drugs and what not but i dont think they are really always accurate for everyone as everyone is different. Now... as for the fent... IT IS FUCKING AWESOME. i remember back in the day, when i had QUITE an opiate tolerance, i chewed up one of the patches and felt in freaking heaven man... good luck with ur fent u will love it

If I need to wait more than 24 hours, but knowing it takes about 12 hours for the fent to reach peak effeciveness, maybe I could skip any unpleasantness at all by applying at the 24 hr mark and by the time 12 more hours goes by, the subs on it's way out and the fent is at working capacity? I just want my transition to be as smooth and as SAFE as possible. I know I only have to wait 24 hours after taking 6-8mg of sub for a week or two and still get my usual effects from my morphine and percs. I've heard that sub can potentiate fent as well, and I sure as hell don't want to make it stronger than it's supposed to be my first time out of the gate so to speak.

I was dilaudid ( x6 stronger than morphine) 16mg a day and I continued to take them while I waited for the patch to kick in.
It took a full 16 hours for me before I felt ANY relief from the patch and then 24 before it started working.
I don't feel eurphoric from it just tired and lazy, there's no climax like with pills. That's my personal opinion. I just got the patch like a week ago though. And I thought 25cmg would be good for me because of the charts but it did absolutely nothing so I was glad I still had some pills left. I am on 50cmg atm and STILL waiting for it to work. I don't know if it's the brand or whatever so beware. I think you'd be fine to take your medication as long as it's not after 6 hours of wearing the patch. I had the patch with my medication once and felt weird.... lol
Any questions just message me!
