This is sort of strange but my doc recently gave me a script for 5mb oxycodone vs my usual 10mg hydrocodone. I typically take 20mg of the hydro and have a nice little experience with it before it wears off and I just get tired. I assumed that the oxy (being the more potent drug as it is) would have even more of an effect. But instead I am finding that 10mg of oxycodone will give me a whopping 10-15 mins of enjoyment and then put my ass to sleep. Its ridiculous and seems totally opposite to me. Do I just have the strangest body chemistry in all of history or is this normal? It sort of makes me want to stay on the hydros simply because I get better enjoyment and longer effect. I always swallow never insuflate btw, because that would just be sort of dumb.

Try a lower dose of oxycodone. Maybe 7.5 mg. Oxycodone is more potent and will induce effects including drowsiness at much lower doses. 10 mg is equivalent to slightly more than 20 mg hydrocodone in my experience.

yes if u are falling asleep, that would most likely make most of us here think that you are actually taking more by orally taking 10mg oxycodone vs 20mg hydrocodone and it is causing you to fall asleep. it is called nodding out by most opiate/opioid users.

after a few weeks that will most likely fade, as your tolerance goes up. i personally would recommend lowering the dose instead, possibly even to 5mg oxy, and stockpile the extra. one day you will be VERY glad that you did.
