Supply and Demand in "Decriminalized" states

For all you MA or NY residents, now that MJ is essentially decriminalized there, has the demand gone up since you no longer have to worry about anything more than a fine if you get caught? What about the supply? Is there more or less to go around? Since these new laws don't affect the dealers, i'd assume the supply is tighter and the demand higher?

Man I live in Minnesota. It is decriminalized here, but not really. And as for supply and demand the only difference is that I feel more comfortable driving with it in MN than Wisconsin (land of cheese, beer, and fat denim asses). If you have two different strains in two different bags you're suddenly part of "conspiracy to manufacture/delivery cannabis" or "possession with intent to deliver". It's decriminalized, but for the most part I've only heard of one person getting a ticket and he also lost his license because it was in his car. I've heard of plenty of people saying, "Yeah... I have weed." and then they get searched for a long time and then let go. It's a good thing, but it's not huge.

And as for supply and demand pricing threads aren't allowed, but weed prices in the MPLS/St. Paul area have only gone up in the last 8 years.

Peace,
PL

Haven't noticed a difference in MA. The decrim law is wonderful, though. Was in a car recently with a half O on the dash of the car (driver was a high chick). Cop asked if she had weed, she said yeah, the half O on the dash and a joint in her purse... Cop said "well, you don't look high" and let us go.

Another time a few of my buddies were smoking in front of UMass, and the cop said "Common guys, at least smoke behind the school" so we moved and smoked there.

That is so fucking cool! They aren't even bothering to give the fine!

I lived in MA until 10 years ago. Went to UMass-Lowell.

Well, I dunno that NY is decriminalized but I've never run into any trouble with the law (knocks on wood).

I can say that I only smoke pretty high grade (White Widow, Sensi Star, Ambrosia, Strawberry Cough, OG Cush, etc., always something new around) weed, and my supply is pretty constant (primary, backup, and even a third source if I ever needed not to mention any number of my friends who aren't dealers but always have extra around).

I don't really think that demand for weed has changed much here in NY. Whether or not the decriminalization is in place, people either blaze or they don't. The potential minor penalties for smaller quantities of weed (getting caught with a j, or an 1/8th) were never going to really deter anyone from blazing.

It's even possible that although decriminalization doesn't intent to impact dealers, the fact that the general sentiment is leaning towards legalization helps them to transport smaller quantities directly to customers under the false pretense that, if they are caught, it's for personal use.

I will say, while not mentioning specific prices, that in NYC, good weed comes still comes at a premium. But then again, we can get pretty much anything we want just delivered to our door, so the convenience is nice.

You make an excellent point here that i had not thought of. That's a good loophole for dealers. By the way, this is the law in NY:

Possession of 25 grams or less of marijuana is punishable by a fine of $100 for the first offense. For the second offense, the penalty increases to a $200 fine and for subsequent offenses the fine increases to $250 and a maximum of 15 days in jail time may be imposed.

I'm going to be honest, from personal experience, Cops don't even want to deal with the paper work if it looks like less than 15 grams. Even in New Hampshire, where weed is not decrimed (next to MA), I've been left off WHILE SMOKING A BLUNT and driving.

Sure, luck is a factor... You might get Office Pig pulling you over, but most of the time, if you are honest, you won't even get the fine. Carrying less on you if possible is always the best policy.

I don't think decrim will effect prices. Why would it? Less risk? Not really, growing still has the same penalties, as does selling.

lol I'm up in NH also, seriously if you aren't being a cock fuck and you don't have a lot of weed.. most cops are cool. I think decrim will effect it personally, good weed up here (which is most of it) costs a bit, I think that more people will be willing to grow driving the price of even better weed down. Why do I think this? Because a lot of ppl grow outdoor up here and the only way they are getting caught is carrying.
