Hi, I am tapering from suboxone. Currently at 0.5mg have been for nearly 1 month and 1 week. Still having wirhdrawal symptoms, I have not stabilized at this dosage yet. Why is it taking so long? I was under the impression that withdrawal took around a month? And Im just stabilizing at a lower dosage. My next step is to quit entirely but i tried going a day without it and only slept for 3 hours, which I know gets worse over time. Can anyone give me some advice about what to do and how to get through the withdrawals? It should only be a little while longer to stabilize on 0.5mg, shouldnt it? I am very concerned about this situation as I only have a month and a half left at my current living situation and I was planning on being off of suboxone by the time I move.

Its been 6 weeks now. Still having insomnia, hot flashes, chills and difficulty getting comfortable. Also i sweat if i exert myself at all. Can anyone tell me when i will get better? I was only on suboxone for 6-7 months so I thought the withdrawal would be over by now? Today i decided to not take my dose, should i expect to get better in another month?

I have no experience with suboxone, but want to kick up your thread. 6 weeks out is totally great though. Keep going. The body will balance out. I have read it can last a good while. My guess? By next month you will feel much better. Eating and sleeping normally. I did kick methadone a few times. Took 2 1/2 months.

If you kick sub you owe yourself a vacation or some treat. That is a hard thing from what I read and most people just stay on.

6 weeks and an extra day now hopefully. ;) Keep us posted OP. I admit I don't see too many thread of people that beat suboxone. If you keep at it then this thread would be one of the important threads.

Sorry for the double post. Just rooting for the OP.

Has anyone here totally got off suboxone and stayed off?

I’m surprised you haven’t stabilized on a taper. It was always easy for me to get down to 0.1 mg or less and stabilize….the hardest part was going to 0.

Having withdrawn and tapered everything including methadone - suboxone is probably the hardest imo. The following is extremely difficult to do as it takes extreme discipline and you need a safe source - but at 0.1 mg suboxone I would switch to trace amounts of a full agonist for the final weeks of the taper then withdrawal from that.
