The question I need answered is the third paragraph. So pretty much, this one's been taking tramadol (which he isn't prescribed) every day for the past several months and has been getting withdrawals if he doesn't take it. It's been causing problems in his life pretty well, and he has decided to stop, but it's proven difficult. Today is the first day in he's not sure how long (due to daily tramadol intake fucking with his memory and perception of time) that he hasn't taken any tramadol. See, the fellow is prescribed Vyvanse, though he hasn't taken Vyvanse since he's been on tramadol every day. Today, however, he did, 3 and a half 40mg Vyvanse over the course of a day, and tramadol isn't safe with Vyvanse, so he didn't take it. Shockingly, he hasn't felt any withdrawal symptoms from not having taken tramadol all day, they usually would've started about 4 hours ago. He has decided that he has weaned off of tramadol enough (down to 125mg) and is going to use Vyvanse over the next few days to keep him from taking it at all.

That being said, he's afraid the withdrawal will come eventually, and he also would like to possibly get some sleep tonight. He also has come into a little bit of Suboxone which he has been saving in case he had to face the tramadol withdrawal with nothing else. So, my questions are as follows:

QUESTION 1: If this fellow, having taken around 140mg of Vyvanse today - the last 20mg or so (half a capsule's powder) having been taken around an hour before this was written - were to take roughly 2mg of suboxone to take the edge off of the Vyvanse about 4 hours after he last took it, could this cause a serious negative reaction? And by that I mean a reaction that would likely be lethal. SWIM doesn't need anyone giving him shit about abusing drugs, that's what he's trying to stop

doing. SWIM also doesn't need to
be told that replacing one addiction with more of it isn't doing anything, he doesn't care to take Vyvanse any more than 3 times a week, especially abusing it, as it causes very unpleasant side effects.

QUESTION 2: Would Suboxone even help with tramadol withdrawal?

SWIM would really appreciate an answer as soon as possible, he hasn't got anybody to ask but a drug forum. The first question is highly more important to SWIM than the second.

Hey there. When I was on suboxone (between 2-4mg) sometimes I would indulge in adderall or vyvanse and I never had any kind of negative reactions. I think you'll be just fine.

Some people have quit opiates using things such as adderall and benzos..the amph can help withdrawal to a certain extent but the night time is the worst because then you reeaally can't sleep. Pah.

And yes, suboxone will help woth the tramadol. Just don't take the suboxone until you are actually in moderate withdrawal.

I really appreciate the answer, luckily I saw it before I jumped the gun. I hadn't considered waiting until the withdrawal starts to take something, as ridiculous as that may sound, but it does make sense, and that'll probably be the route I take. Thanks.

Side note: I've been kicked off a forum before for saying the wrong thing, so please excuse the "SWIM", I wasn't aware that was frowned upon here until I opened my "Welcome Wagon" message. As you can surely tell, I'm quite new to this site.

No worries my friend..and welcome to BL!

And the reason I said to try to wait unail you are in moderate withdrawal is because taking suboxone too soon after an opiate can put you into precipitated withdrawals and that is just horrible. But there are some people who can take it sooner than others..as can't be said enough here..everybody is different.

How did your night turn out?

Vyvanse and suboxone together work great. I've taken them together a lot, with no bad side effects. It's one of my favorite buzzes.

Somewhat poorly, but I feel I'm getting better now. The withdrawals seem to be easing up a bit, and I managed to not take the suboxone until later the next day. It's been working very well so far. The vyvanse didn't really help so much the next day, as it causes me to ache anyway, so it just kind of made it worse. Of course, I'm not very big on stimulants anyway, just once in a while, and I'm hoping I'm well on track towards getting my shit together, even without the vyvanse. I really appreciate the help.
