Im relatively new to the forums but saw that the drug testing forum is closed and years old and the search seems to not work. i tried searching suboxone and swab test but it doesnt sort relevant posts at all n days worth of posts so too many to sort through myself so i am posting here i guess.
I go to a maintenance program weekly where i take 8mg of suboxone a day. The counselors give drug tests biweekly but more lately since im trying to get my days down, switchin between urine and swabs. I did a swab test 2 weeks ago which came back positive for opiates so did another swab which came back the same again. They are having the lab do a further gm/ds test or whatever its called. I havent used in like a month and that was one day when i missed the clinic for a week. So the first test that showed up positive was a week and a half after that. So that shouldnt be the cause.
The thing that bothers me at the clinic is that they are okay with giving you a swab test when my suboxone has barely even dissolved, like i just took it n mine normally takes an hour to as i try not to swallow any. This has been the case for the past 2 tests and the swab comes out pink, making me think the med is being wasted n maybe super concentrating the swab, idk.
Ive searched online and elsewhere and havent seen anything on swab test administering guidlines. ive only been told that if u dont keep it in your mouth for at least 5 min it can cause false positives. I dont eat poppy seeds n thats the only food that i hear would cause that. The only other meds i take are zyrtec for allergies and been taking nyquil for my cold which has dextromethorphan in it and phenlyphyrine i think it is. This is like the 5th time ive had false positives from swab tests, last one being years ago. Been searching for an hour and cant find if these tests are even fda approved yet as they werent a few years ago. I hear naloxone is stored sometimes in fat cells as a different chemical. i havent found if this happens while it dissolves in the mouth or is this after it enters the bloodstream. That could be an explanation of why or if that is the case would it be in the cheek cells from previous doses. The test they do next will show exactly what drug i show up positive for or if it is indeed false.
Im just looking for some kind of hard evidence that shows its not okay to give these tests while the suboxone is still dissolving in the mouth. Ive always spoke about this at the clinic and i definitely feel the difference in how i feel towards the end of the day when they do this. Seems none of the drs there have any idea either or on half the things i ask.
