Heroin Suboxone to heroin and back again

I have been clean off of heroin for the last year and a half with the help of suboxone. I'm down to 0.25 mg of suboxone daily (and have plans to jump off altogether soon) and took the last dose yesterday morning.

This morning I was able to get my hands on some heroin and syringes. Since I am on such a low daily mg of suboxone, I decided doing it the next morning was safe. It was. I did it around noon today and then did another one around 9 at night. I want to go back to using my suboxone as soon as possible and was only doing the heroin as a one day thing.

I was wondering if it's okay to keep on taking my normal suboxone dosage tomorrow morning or if I should wait for the first signs of withdrawal. Any thoughts?

You should be fine to take that low of a dose at the normal time. I never had any issues with taking an 8mg 12-18 hours after my last shot, may be different for you though.

Now the big question, we are in similar boats I take 0.5mg every 36 hours (.25 off an 8mg was too small to work with) but why ruin the progress. Everyone thinks its only once but one more time is the thought that ruins most. If you have come this far why risk all this progress and the idea of finally being opiate free for one more time? Are you sure you want to what if you just kept the memory like a lost love something you know can never and will never be the same? That's at least how I view it.

But it seems like you made your choice, you should be fine the next day. Good luck!
 
The majority of people, once stabilized on suboxone, if they only relapse once, can hop back on their normal dose right away without a problem.

Waiting till your sick is always the safe bet though. At that small dose, there isn't much suboxone in your system, so you have to be careful about switching back and forth to dope because even 2 days of doing H and not taking suboxone, could mess up your receptors and cause you to have to re-transition onto suboxone and at a higher tolerance.

You've come so close already. Don't mess it up by continuing to mess with dope. Eventually it's going to screw you over. You're either clean or you're not... "chipping" might as well be a unicorn because I've never seen anyone do it for real.
 
Warning: u can get precipitated withdrawals from taking your normal sub dose again after getting high just once!


but like Mr.S said... if u relapse once and get high for a day, u should be able to go right back to your normal dose without any issues or PW.

Well!! im one of the unlucky ones who was stabilized on sub, skipped sub dose for one day and got high on H that night, then went to take my sub dose as normal the next day and it gave me PW's 18 hours later even!!

so i just want to warn folks that you can very easily get precipitated withdrawals trying to go back and forth from sub and dope.

it apparently must differ from one person to the next... i had waited 18 hours after getting high to try taking my sub. and it still gave me PW. i have no idea why

im posting this here in case someone reads thru this from a search or something. i want people to know that while what Mr.S said is true for some people or even most, it certainly wasnt for me. i got PW's
