Bupe Suboxone Question

So I tried taking suboxone today, 19 hours after my last H dose and it sent me into withdrawal. I was desperate and ended up getting a bag. By the time i got it I was feeling better, but i shot it anyway. I didn't feel a thing. I went to work then got another bag at night, it didn't really do anything.

I have work tomorrow morning and it will be extremely difficult with nothing. Can i take suboxone without getting sick, since it blocked my shots today? I wish i just stuck it out...

I really just want to get stable on suboxone, but im so terrified of having to work in withdrawal.

Hey there-

Though I am new on BL I do have experience with Suboxone. Don't waste your money by doing BOTH the suboxone or the H. They will cancel each other out. IF you want to quit then follow through with the suboxone otherwise don't take it cause it really will prevent you from getting any buzz.

Good Luck, hope this helps.

The best way to take Suboxone is to take it a little bit at a time instead of taking it all at once when you're transitioning from an opiate in my experience. My doctor put it to me like this when I was first transitioning (although first time I was stubborn and had one of the worst withdrawal experiences of my life) and I thought it was a good analogy. Picture your brain as a stadium with the seats being filled by an opiate. You need to let the opiates leave your brain and let the suboxone fill in the seats as they leave. If you take too much suboxone and it starts having to "kick the opiates out of their chairs" then that is when you will experience withdrawal. I have transitioned many times since then by using this method and have always have had a smooth go. I would start by taking 2mgs (your tolerance might be different but I feel I was a moderate user) and wait about an hour and a half and then I would go by feel and if I started to get a little jittery or sweating I would take another 1-2mgs and usually by the 4th hour in I'm in energetic mode even though I was okay to function the whole time. Good Luck

Sidenote: I was prescribed 12mg a day but only needed 4mg and really could get by on less but like the energy I would get from the sub

If you take Suboxone and feel shitty, stick to Suboxone from then on and don't go back to heroin, because it will take a good 48-72 hours for enough of the bupe to clear out of your body.

Thankfully though, you'll only feel withdrawals from bupe once... after you've switched ontyo bupe, you can take more and it won't put you into w/d again. unless you get back on "real" opioids, and they start having effects.

Bro you need to just take off work for a week and get use to the subs. Working while sick sucks.

If you're gonna take a week off work cause your sick just quit everything lol.
You'll get sick doing a sub strip within 18 hrs of a regular opiate habit but if u didn't wait long enough and went into Prec. Withdrawals then
Just wait another 6 or 8 hrs and redose. That one or 2 bags shouldn't affect u that much unless your tolerance is low u should be alright. If your tolerance is low than youre getting high and well enough to wait it out a lil longer.

Sorry to hijack the thread for a second but making a new thread for this is pointless. I missed a little bit of a shot today on the inner side of my left elbow, and now the whole side of my arm is numb! Is that normal or at least not unheard of? I think maybe some of the shot got stuck around a nerve? Does that sound about right? There is no redness or swelling at all and there is occasionally a very short sharp pain every now and then when I move it, but that doesn't happen every time I move it. Then numbness had been here for a few hours now. Does that sound like a nerve is messed up?

I agree with ScaredInfectionsH. I have used this method to taper many times and it always works great. But if your going to do dope again after you take the sub its gonna be a waste because bupe has a half life of 24-48 hrs so the longer you can wait the better, or better yet just not do dope at all!

ryand123- i have had a part of my arm go numb before when i missed a little bit. what happened for me was that whole area of my arm kinda turned white and felt numb, but it went away by morning.

Thanks for putting my mind at ease, I've never had my arm stay numb for this long and it's really irritating and I was getting a little worried. I will wait til morning and see if my case is like yours, I hope it is ha.

Taking suboxone after opiates is not so much a matter of how much time its been since your last opiate, but more so about how much withdrawal you are in.

There's something called the COWS scale, you can Google it. It rates you on much withdrawal you are in. Forget what score you need to be able to safely take suboxone but read up on it and it is pretty helpful.
