suboxone kills sex drive.. what else is there to take?

could have sworn I posted this earlier but I do not see it so maybe computer froze, internet went out, who knows..

but anyone else have this problem? can anything be done/taken aside from getting off the drug? this was always a problem w/ me and my dope days but I never cared but nowadays w/ a new GF and a semi new "sober" life, I do care and its a problem!

For me any opiate kills my sex drive, and nothing has worked for me aside from quitting.. Unfortunately.
 
May I ask are you using Suboxone recreationally or for opiate substitution/ maintenance? What dose are you taking at present?

I believe buprenorphine is less reported to decrease libido than say methadone, but unfortunately reduced sex drive is relatively common in chronic opiate use.

Reducing your dose, when you are stable and ready to, will probably help with reducing such side effects. It's probably not what you wanted to hear but such symptoms may be dose-related and can improve with tolerance or reduction in dose if appropriate.
 
I've been on subs for three years, it hasn't effected my libido more than my poppy pod tea days. Maybe take a smaller dose? Aren't you on 12-16mg? Maybe get down to 8mg and it'll get better. Or take amphetamines.
 
I take subs for maintenance. I am on 16/MG now but was on 12 only a few weeks back but jumped back to 16/MG. I honestly think I could get away w/ using 8MG easily which is something I am going to TRY to do and hopefully get this sex drive back in action.


Pill2Chill - I FUCKING MISS GHB! man, back in my "club days" I'd be doing so much Tina (what we called crystal) and G that my dick would always be ready to go for hours and hours; this was a completely different time in life and things surly have changed since then, not juts the drugs. nowadays ill use Phenibut here and there to get a G type feel but I havent touched G or Crystal in over 10yrs. I wish I could say the same about dope and benzos, ha.

I swear I have NO sex drive, was on 16mg for a little over a year, now on 8mg, esp when benzos are taken, which is often.... but Gabapentin raises my sex drive, it's a wierd drug you have experiment with the doses. Phenibut. Amphetimies, like just have some addderall around for when ya get laid.

Edit: Also you are on a high dose, if you start taking half of your dose that can def help, I was able to go from 16 to 8 easy, didn't notice any kinda withdrawl at all, plus you will have a stock pile...I gotta good stockpile going,lol.

Yeah buprenorphine fucks with my sex drive as well. I can go for hours and not bust a nut, just get a nice, painful case of "blue-balls". Sometimes I get luck though and that's not the case.

Lately I've only been using 0.3-0.5mg of IV'd bupe, so maybe that will help with libido as opposed to 16mg (which is an unnecessarily high dose for myself) . I don't have a BMT script yet, my assessment is tomorrow afternoon; so IV bupe allows me to make the most out of the bupe strips I'm copping off the streets because I can use low doses.

I'm not sure if MMT took any worse of a toll on my libido than BMT, but that's just me. I probably wasn't paying attention to libido anyway, I was more worried about getting high.

that was my plan. I was at 8MG and went back to 16MG for no reason; like you said, you really dont feel much of a difference. you think you would but its nothing much.
 
Adderall usually increases my sex drive.

I hated this part about sub when I had a GF. Being single I don't really care. It used to be so much fucking work to finish though. Sometimes I wouldn't even be able to and that is frustrating
 
Suboxone definitely fucked up my sex drive and gave me "technical difficulties" (not in terms of finishing, that would still take time, but to be explicit, in terms of keeping erect. ironically, on dope, I'd fuck like a champ, but on suboxone, not so much, probably the partial antagonist thing I suppose. My old bupe dr (a croak, tbh, wrote me whatever) gave me Viagra which helped a bit, (meth)amphetamine probably is not a bad idea if not in excess., but I can see getting in trouble with this. I am well of suboxone now but honestly it's lasted a bit longer than that, I think that the long term opiate use may have had an effect on my testosterone, seeing a doctor about that is on my agenda tbh.
