A little background, my doctor prescribed me suboxone to get off dope. three 8mg's a day for a week till i see him again. i know this is an extremely high dose and the doctor and myself are probably idiots but i'm going to follow the dosage in pursuit of feeling a little nice. I didn't know if suboxone would even make me feel good but...damn. i took the first 8mg two hours ago and i have the nicest buzz... so my question is should i expect this throughout my treatment or will this subside when my tolerance sky rockets?

Two days from now you will be cussing yourself for taking so much. You are saturating your receptors and doing it with damn near a ceiling dose at that. If you want to maintain a buzz for as long as possible (Which will eventually stop happening anyway) you need to find the lowest possible dose that gives you a buzz as to not flood your brain with so much bupe you can't feel the difference between high and sober. Less is more with bupe, try a 4 mg, or even 2 mg dose next time you dose, and try to put a good amount of time between each use. GL HF

Having been on Suboxone for 2 years now, I can tell you that the buzz definitely will go away pretty quickly. You'll still notice a definite antidepressant effect with Suboxone even after the buzz is gone, but I found that it subsides after about 6 months.

the problem is that it was hard enough to find a sub doctor that would take my insurance. and this guy drug tests you every time you come. wouldn't he know if i wasn't taking the amounts he prescribed? I have a feeling he's the type of person who would question why i second guessed his "treatment plan".

I know exactly what you mean. My addictions doc drug tests me every visit, but the thing about the tests is that it all comes down to how he does them. If he just uses test strips, he won't be able to see how much you're taking, just that you're taking it. If he sends the test samples to a lab, he may be able to see the concentrations. My doc will do random lab tests, and I've read the test results and even then it doesn't clearly indicate how much is in your system, just that you've taken the sub. That's just my experience, your doc may do far more thorough tests that will be able to see the amount that you're taking. If the drug test is a urine test, chances are he'll just use an immunoassay for the testing, which largely just indicates that the drug is present in your system. Blood tests would indicate the concentration more accurately. In the event that he sees that you're taking less, you could always just say that you had too many side effects from the dose or something along those lines.

it would seem odd to him though. i have a feeling he'd think i was selling them. which i am not even against doing as i was going to sell two of them already. -.- sigh. don't know if i should really risk it. don't want to end up back on dope. that would suck.

frankly, i don't even try to buy heroin anymore here. if i want to score and get high, it's always suboxone or nothing, as a. you know exactly what you're getting, b. how much of it, c. very hard to get ripped off. for my occasional IV opiate indulgence suboxone works great for me. i should state though that i use opiates rarely, mainly because i love their effect more than that of any other drug. 2mgs IV (NOT a safe dose for someone with no opiate tolerance, but works for me) will feel like four hours of unadulterated bliss.

Anybody that uses Suboxone to get high, especially via IV is an idiot. Enjoy having a tolerance so high down the line, no opiate or opiod will get you high. All you are doing is saturating and down regulating you receptors. Considering the binders and fillers in most pills, especially suboxone, you are playing with fire. Just wait until a blood vessel becomes obstructed or you miss a shot. You could lose an arm.

You have 2 options. Either take the prescibed doses for the two days leading up to the appointment
or
Tell the doctor to fuck off and enjoy your over a year supply of Suboxone since 2mg/day is definitely enough for your habit, and you have over 900mg from your script.

You would have gotten just a nice of a buzz off of 2mg, so all you are really doing is fucking yourself in the long run. I've read so many threads about people that got started on high doses such as yourself, and it ended up skyrocketing their tolerance, and becoming almost impossiible to get off of, so hurting way more than it helped.
But hey, don't listen to us, we've just got a few hundred years of personal experience of Suboxone use between us all, but your doctor, well he took a 5 hour course, and has the inconsistent feedback from a few patients that were honest with him, and a bunch more that exaggerated the truth to get more drugs from him.

Good luck though.
