Suboxone and Xanax

So the Sub. doctor that I see won't prescribe me xanax for an underlying anxiety problems I've had for a long time. Just his rules; and I understand this somewhat, because benzo.'s and suboxone can equal respritory depression... However I tend to come across a lot people saying that their doctor prescribes them both of these.

Point being I would like to switch doctors if I get any positive answers to this thread.
So first off can anyone answer this question, and I'll add more to this or PM people who answer.

Thanks, and I hope this isn't an innopropriate question.

If it is sorry, close or delete.

The only question you technically asked, was can anyone answer this question ? So what exactly do you want to know.

I'm supposed to be on 2.5mg of klonopin and 10mg of suboxone, scripted by my Dr. I've been on kpins for a while, and he doesn't have a problem giving me them and suboxone.

The repository depression by benzos + suboxone is possible, however, imo, grossly overplayed and exaggerated. Benzos + Opiates together is exaggerated as is, however, even more unnecessarily with sub + benzos.

You can try seeing a different Dr, but mainstream doesn't like to give benzo's after opiates. I was on benzo's before suboxone

Alright. Thanks for the input. The problem was that the doctor that I originally went to for my meds isn't certified to prescibe suboxone so I had to find a different doctor. At the time I just wanted to get started on the subs so even though the doctor I found would allow me to be on benzos (he won't prescribe them at all. I don't get it) I got weened off of my klonopin, and started the subs. Now I'm just wondering if anyone thinks whether or not I have a good chance of finding a new suboxone doctor who will allow me to start back on some sort of anxiety medicine.

Hopefully this is a little more clear on why I'm asking this question.

Thanks for the replys.

I've come across a few patients prescribed both benzos and suboxone but only a few, most docs don't like to prescribe opioids to people who are recovering from an addiction to another pharm.
