I have been on Suboxone for a week now and i am experiencing nausea. I have taken thing before but never had this problem. Only difference is this time i got on sub after being opiate free for 5 months so my tolerance is very low. I finally got insurance and was about to relapse with oxys or heroin so i just decided to get on sub.

I plug 1-2mg twice a day. Maybe i'm taking too much?

Anyone else experience this?

with such s low tolerance, youre right...even 1 or 2 mgs of sub is very strong. id recommend using them under your tounge instead of plugging or try getting some phenergan or other antiemetic to stop the nausea. when i started subs i got wicked headaches and nausea. i think my induction was way to fast. in any event, its almost certainly your body adjusting and it will pass and major props to you for getting back on subs instead of going back to the old ways. you sould like youre on the right track. be safe.

Off the top of my head, I can't think of any pill that comes anywhere close to making me as nauseous as easily as Suboxone does [I've never taken Suboxone to actually try & get off opiates, though]. When I used to take Suboxone, I'd take really low dosages like it sounds you do. Usually I'd take like only 2mg or something... Which actually wouldn't always make me really nauseous. But if I take as little as 2mg of Suboxone for a few days in a row, or take Suboxone within like 24-48 hours of taking any other opiate at all, it's pretty much a guarantee that I'll be throwing up like crazy.

I'm actually glad I came across this thread & that I'm not the only person who has noticed such a big correlation between Suboxone & nausea, 'cause I've been wondering for a while if I react that way to it because I'm allergic or what.

Thanks for the help guys. I think you are right about taking too much....and plugging is a higher BA of course so i think thats it. I was kinda trying to get a buzz so i was plugging twice a day. I started doing under tongue today and am planing on just doing 1 or 2 mgs ONCE a day.

I am perscribed two 8mgs a day and i plan to keep the doses low and build up a big stash of subs so i dont need to pay the rediculous doc fees.

This way maybe 1 or 2 times a month i can get an OC or some real opiate and do it recreationally without draining my bank account or getting sick.....i know this is not the best plan, but its way better than going back to shooting dope.

I would just like to add that I was incredibly nauseous the first two weeks.. my body slowly became use to my morning dose of sub.. it's done more good for me than bad (now that I'm at 12 mg... any dose lower than that did "fill up" my receptors enough.. so I continued to use).. however, it is a high dose, so you just have to remind yourself that your body will find a way to deal with it.. mine did..

It's gonna be from histamine release, nausea is a fairly common side effect of almost all opis. Fairly hit and miss for me personally, but I know i've been sick on bupe at least a couple times.

Recommend buying some antihistamines, they are available OTC - look for stuff like diphenydramine, cetirizine, loratadine, etc. Normally called allergy or hayfever meds - just make sure there's no other drugs like epinephrine in them.
