Strongly thinking about fasting.

Sorry if this is already posted, my internet is messing up.

But as stated in post. Im thinking about fasting...a juice fast. I heard about it from another person on bl. and it caught my interest greatly. I plan to buy a bunch of fruit: apples, bananas, strawberries, blackberries, oranges, anything else you guys think of?
Maybe do this for a week to start off. Since i dont eat at home often, due to work and school, this should be easy. I plan to eat only raw fruits and more than likely raw veggies as well and only drink: water, green tea and freshly squeezed juice. (I'll probably steal my boyfriends juicer).

What i want to know is, your input first off. Also, if you have ever fasted and what it was like, what kind of fasting did you do, would you do it again, how often you fast and how long..or anything else you would like to add.

I am currently on a similar diet but the key is to make sure you still eat some solid food even if its just some crackers or something because a strictly liquid diet even for only a week or so can fuck with you large intestine. I try to stick to one medium sized meal a day (mainly protein) then 4-6 glasses of veg/fruit juice with plenty of water in between.
 
that is a good point. ill probably eat at lunch time, maybe 2 or 3? i havent planned it all out yet but im very interested in this.
 
If you're doing this to lose weight- Just stop now.

I did a six-week long fast and I felt no emotion. No empathy. No strength. Nothing. Only pain and negativity. It brought me down to an unhealthy weight. I lost a lot of my muscle and any weight I retained was a thin layer of water and fat from the carbohydrates.

If you're fasting for said religious reasons or to make/prove a point, then you're awesome and go right ahead.
 
Here is the fasting thread. I think you will find some useful information there.

A few things...if you are eating solid foods you aren't fasting. As its been explained to me the point of not eating solid food is to cleanse your digestive track, which is where many other physical problems arise.

Drink green juice made out of dark leafy greens, cucumber, celery, ginger, and lemon with a bit of tumeric and cayenne.

Review some blogs of other people who have done juice fasts.

You must do something else to clean out the toxins. I would strongly recommend a coffee enema daily or at least a few times each week. Failing that use the salt water flush method.

I was already underweight when I started my one and only fast. It definitely felt very cleansing. I however felt quite drained and sore and had to work. My plan now is to gain weight over the winter and do another fast right before the spring produce comes online. IMO it is going to be very important for me to take work off for this.

Good Luck! It is certainly worth a try for your specific purpose I think.
