Heroin Strange reaction possibly from shooting H

OK so I am not new to shooting heroin, been doing it for a while. A couple days ago I had some FIRE , shot a bundle, which is about my normal amount, sometimes a little more, sometimes less, and felt really nice. Great rush, euphoria, etc everything amazing. All of a sudden I realize my top lip feeling strange. I go into the bathroom look in the mirror and my top lip is swollen really bad, its huge. Looks like I got punched in the mouth. My girl , parents, asking me if I got into a fight. This lasted maybe 24 hours and went away. I have had this stamp before and never had this reaction. Since that day I got the same shit because it is so good, I mean its really some FIRE, some of the best dope I've ever had and my lip being swollen doesn't really seem dangerous. And the same thing happens. I mean my lip gets HUGE , like ridiculously huge, but since I am mostly by myself when I use and the dope is so good, I don't really mind. Any one have any idea what this could be and if it could in any way be or get dangerous?

If the swelling goes down after the heroin wears off esp. if it is accompanied by itching and redness, it sounds like histamine release. It's like a mini allergic reaction, it can puff your face up and stuff but you should be fine.

If your lip is staying swollen, bruised, tender, purple/blue, or puffy, for longer than 6 hours, then you are probably injecting a lot of particulate matter. I suggest buying or acquiring some micron filters from a pharmacy, needle exchange, or the Internet, and cease injection usage of the dope because you are running the risk of a stroke or any number of other bad things that can happen with regular injection of grit.

Yeah, a friend of mine had some similar reaction but it was with her eye. For whatever reason, her eye would swell up whenever we would get these one bags.

Also, a fucking bundle, dude? Really? That's some tolerance you got there...

I'm actually quite curious as to how many people micron filter heroin.
It's one of the few things I don't usually bother to micron.
I guess because of the quantities of fluid involved I worry about losing to much in the process.

But as verso said a bundle of "fire" does seem excessive.
Though the quality of the dope would make a difference.
Just out of curiosity what would your dosage be with some sort of pharmaceutical for reference?

I mean hell, I slam 30mg of Oxymorphone to get a decent buzz, 40 or 50 to get folded.
Where as with dope I've never shot a full bundle as I usually use dope for maintenance.
I'm thinking I'd likely have to do a bundle as well to get high off dope but I figure shit's just low quality here.
Basically I'm always curious as to how tolerance to dope equates vs pharmies to get an idea on quality.

So if you don't mind op, could you throw out your tolerance to some sort of pharmie as a reference point?

If it's histamine release, benadryl would help, but I have my doubts if he's injecting a lot at once.

^ Perhaps instead of benadryl, something stronger such as hydroxyzine or promethazine.

Personally I use hydroxyzine to prevent morphine induced histamine release.
It works wonders for reducing or eliminating pins & needles effect.
I like to reduce it to where it's pleasant, as my morphine shots usually release enough histamine to hurt.

Perhaps giving one of those anti-histamines a try might help.

Probably a bit of an allergic reaction to something it's cut with, as stated previously. Benadryl might help but be careful because it potentiates opiates/opioids and could make it just a tad bit easier to od.
