Ok so i have no idea what is going on and i hope someone can shed some light and help me out here because i don't know if I'm wasting my weed and fucking my lungs at the same time.

Whenever i rip a bong lately hardly any smoke comes out on the exhale.
Even if i pack a party cone more smoke will come but its still not a cloud like it used to be.
Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Yes correct, haven't been out with the mates lately thanks to school so its been the one bong the whole time.

Usually i inhale after the rip for a few seconds to get it all down but I've tried exhaling straight after my rip and still only a little bit of smoke appears. What the hell man -.-
And thanks for the quick reply ;)

EDIT: Just thought i would add when i cherry it fills with smoke just like it used to. What could possibly be happening?

Your both correct there as I've had this problem before and no shit cleaned and problem was gone.
But that was about a week ago and it was fine, now its still practically clean but no smoke on exhale :S

Cleaning bong now and replacing pipe, see how shit goes down.
How often do you recommended cleaning out a bong?

Make sure you have compression, is it glass plastic?
Look at the o rings inspect every thing another thing is to take out the bowl and put your finger over the hole and blow through listen for air coming out

What kind of bong are you using?

As you pull, do you see smoke cloud in the chamber? Is it the usual amount of smoke, or lessened?

When you pull the smoke from the chamber does it hit as it usually does or does the smoke feel more cooled and "fresh"?

If you don't have a clog, your bong's probably popped an airtight seal somewhere or has a break in the glass/plastic/acrylic/whatever-it's-made-of.

If it hits as it normally does and you're only complaint is a diminished amount of smoke upon exhale, stop holding that shit in for a day and a half.

Cleaning the bong help 100% thanks everyone for your help.
I still cant understand why as there was no clogged resin or anything :S It just looked fine.
Kinda embarassed it was such a simple fix -.-
Thanks again.

^ Mine does it sometimes dude, usually if I don't clean it for a week or two it still pulls, but you pull harder and end up with tiny clouds.

Sometimes after cleaning though, it loses it's airtight factor and the first couple bowls are like 90% air and 10 % smoke. Dunno how it fixes itself but it does!

moisture in the air is a big factor when it comes to the visibility of smoke.

When i smoke a joint indoors i can barley ever see smoke.
If i smoke the joint on a cool autumn night outside, i get HUGE plumes of smoke that come out.

Maybe this will help you understand what's going on. In moister air, smoke is more visible.

Not related to the topic, but the cause of the effects you just described is temperature.... not moisture.

Indoors ----> room temperature

outside on a cool autumn night ----> cold enough to see your breath, let alone smoke exhalations

that is not consistent with my observations.

When i hotbox the warm bathroom, i see no smoke coming out, until i crank the water and generate some steam. Then, i can see steam and a lot of smoke. So i figure that temperature AND moisture must both play a role. otherwise, how do you explain my observation?

Moisture in the air actually works to, for lack of a better term, "ground" the smoke. Condensation on walls of a frequently hot-boxed room will cause a discoloration wherever the moisture forms. The same thing happens in the air but to a lesser extent.

The only explanation I can offer you is that you're confusing the steam in the air with extra smoke. I'm willing to bet you're exhaling the usual amount of smoke, but combined with the steam in the air your intoxicated mind "observes" a larger cloud upon exhalation. Taking it a step further, the fact that you say you smoke in a warm bathroom sans steam first, and then midsession you crank up the steam and all of a sudden there's more smoke in your mind. I don't know about you, but midsession I'm normally pretty high and don't always form the right connections.

now that i come to think of it, i observe the effects with cigarettes too.
That's why i think cigarettes have a better taste outside, on a cool moist night.

I bet there's also condensation from my breath that plays a role here.

And no. I can smoke in my bathroom, and barley observe smoke. The moment i add hot water and steam to the equation, there are literally thick plumes coming off the joint, where before, there was only a tiny whisp of smoke.

i observe that the dryer and warmer the air is, the less smoke you tend to see.
the colder and moister the air, the more smoke you seem to see.

try it out man.

Take a rip from a bong indoors, with closed windows.
Now go step on the balcony on a cool night, and take the same sized toke. you will see A LOT more smoke coming out.

What laws of physics are responsible for this, i ultimately don't know. All i know is that my observations go back to when i was 14 and smoked my first cig hiding on the porch, to now, where i am 25 and smoke indoors and outdoors frequently. Outside, cigarettes produce a richer, thicker smoke than indoors.

So why is it on warm and rainy days one can barely see any smoke from a distance, yet on these cool (note: COOL) autumn nights you can see the smoke from a couple blocks down provided a decent light source?

I feel like you're overlooking the simplest part of your scenario.

could it be that the joint just wasnt burning as well when you first started smoking it so about the time your turn the water on it gets going really well? i notice with my joints when i get to the middle of it, it hits the best.
