Supposedly different strains means different cannabinoids means different high. I haven't noticed this personally. Some bud gets me higher than others but they all give me the same high. I'm wondering if people's mood, expectations, tolerance, atmosphere, etc. cause people to think they feel different highs. I'm also wondering if this is a marketing scheme by seed companies to get you to buy their strains as opposed to using seeds from your bud. What do you guys think?

Set and setting will affect your high, but I've definitely felt the difference between a strong indica and a strong sativa, you've just been unlucky I guess :\

After smoking strong sativa's all day I feel like I'm almost wired/tripping, whereas strong indicas will put me to sleep.

Have you tried many different strains?

Yes I have. I'm hoping other people will say that they experienced the same thing. Perhaps my brain isn't sensitive to certain cannibinoids so I can't tell the difference. That would suck.

Its tough sometimes to tell the difference because if the weeds good your probably really high while your analyzing the difference. I do know that when I burn a bowl of some fire kush I wake the hell up and If i where to burn a bowl of some train wreck im going to sleep well. Some weed also gives me munchies while others dosent (the strain I smoked yesterday full out went through the amphs i was on and made m hungry). The differences are refined but noticeabe if you smoke one type of weed alone and it is of sufficiently high quality.

when i first started smoking weed, i noticed big differences between different strains. after i had developed a high tolerance, all that mattered was the potency. i got the same effect every time no matter what strain i was smoking.

Same burn out, which is one of the reasons I'm trying to lower that tolerance, because it sucks to not feel the unique high of weed

I should've mentioned I only notice it when I'm smoking really good stuff ie: whenever I've been to Amsterdam and there's a huge selection /drool

But most of the time the stuff I smoke isn't anywhere near that good, usually only have one batch and I've got a tolerance anyway which makes it harder to differentiate.

Don't think its a conspiracy though :)

Indicas are fun to smoke when you're with buds and going to watch a movie or just relax indoors and don't want to move.

Sativas are fun for parties IME if you use them in moderation and they don't make you paranoid or anxious.

The very trippy Sativas are fun for being alone or with close friends who are into that sort of thing.

I get different effects from different types of herb and I don't know the names of the strains except for the one time I had some fun trainwreck that someone else had at a party.
