Stopping it from hurting...

Is there a specific skill or way to stop your throat from hurting when you take a rip from a bong..or joint.
Every time i hit either i get a real burning feeling over my throat and even down my windpipe..
it feels like the hot smoke is just agitating me..but my friends dont get this as bad as me...so it makes me think..what am I doing wrong?
 
^before you are out of breath (from inhaling) stop smoking and inhale air

also i recommend drinking water if your throat is sore
 
Definitely slow down how fast you pull the cone.

But the biggest difference will be smoking more. Once you start smoking everyday you will get iron lungs.

There's people that will just struggle to take a full cone in one hit though. One of my friends that's smoked with me for years still to this day hasn't been able to ever pull a full cone. Usually takes him 3-4 hits. But after a few days of heavy smoking he seems to pull them a lot smoother without as much coughing.
 
I still do that once in a while, I take the hit in wayyyyyyy to fast and it burns like hell. Take it slower or take smaller rips.
 
For joints i leave one side of my lips open to let a bit of air in with it. For a pipe same thing and for a bong You can do the ice thing as said above.
My fave is the ice in the bong! If you breathe really slowly then it gets really cold and awesome.
 
Icy bong hits!

+1 on drinking water and taking slower and smoother hits from a bong/pipe/J where you inhale the smoke and then hold it for a bit and then inhale more air and then exhale.

Or you could just eat it or get a vaporizer.
 
I used to rip my throat APART when I used to smoke my bong.... It was just me and my bong in my recliner.

It never really got any better. Bongs in general hurt if you rip it like a madman.... Sometime I would inhale it very slowwly, let it build up in the neck. Let out the small inhale that got the smoke in there.... Breathe out then just take all the other smoke. I think that helpped me, but i was baked so I can't honestly recall.

Also if you smoke a bong with no water that HURTS... so you might not have enough water.
 
French inhaling. Ghosting is also nice because the smoke cools down and you pull of a nice trick. Same with frenching... simply mixes cool air with hot smoke, easier on the throat.

After time you'll destroy your throat enough that it won't hurt anymore. I remember when I started hookah smoking... good god that was a terrible week.
 
slow inhalation. just be careful is the main thing. i've smoked like 4 cigarettes and some wheat (yes wheat... i did some stupid shit in 8th grade) and i've pretty much gotten the hang of it.

just takes time man. your throat's gonna be irritated for awhile anyways though. it's smoke.

if you're a serious smoker, and you're really looking to do as little damage as possible to your lungs, i'd recommend a vaporizer (though they are pretty damn expensive).
 
If your using a bong (homemade) put a tiny shotty above the regular one so what you can fill the bong with smoke then still get more smoke but diffuse it with air.

Once you start smoking everyday you will get iron lungs.
I disagree, when i start smoking every day it takes about 3-4 days to get tough lungs and that lasts for about 3 weeks before i start coughing or getting irritatted
 
Use a really nice bong, preferably one with a perc if u want smooth. Personally a perc makes it too smooth at times.
 
Nope...i only smoke weed like once a week max...thinkin about a vape..but i think it will just entice me to smoke more often...which is either good...or bad..i havent quite decided yet lol
