Stimulants stopped dexedrine for 30 days now it wont work

I went to a treatment center to get off 2yrs on suboxone and they took me off dexedrine. I just got back 5 days ago filled my script for dexedrine and it doesn't do anything even up to 40mgs. I used it for about 6 months before treatment and i built up a small tolerance but it always worked well. It literally does nothing now besides make me anxious 4 hours later. I'm really confused I thought the month off it would make it work better. Weird thing is I tried vyvanse and focalin and they still worked fine. I dunno why the dex wouldn't since vyvanse is the same but weaker. I'm still withdrawling off suboxone so that might be part of it. The only change in meds I've made is got on lexapro and switched from xanax to klonopin. If anyone has any ideas why it'd quit working after a month vacation dcuz I really wanna know.

The reason might have to do with you being on different drugs than you are used to. It might also have to do with your pharmacy giving you a different brand of dexedrine than you are used to. I don't know how many different brands of dexedrine exist, but I know that there are multiple brands of adderall and they are not equal in dose or effect despite what a psychiatrist or pharmacist may tell you. Good job getting off suboxone.

I remember whenever I had opiate w/d that would trump everything including blocking my ADHD adderall pills.

Also, did u eat the dexedrine pill with acidic food/drinks? Bc an acidic environment renders many stimulants.

Nah didn't take it with acidic food/drinks I even took baking soda. I thought it was cuz the w/d's but vyvanse worked 2 days before.

Could very well be from the lexapro.. SSRI's and amphetamines don't go very well together.

In general, amphetamines and other sympathomimetic appetite suppressants should not be combined with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) or serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). Close monitoring for enhanced sympathomimetic effects and possible serotonin syndrome is recommended if these agents must be used together. Symptoms of the serotonin syndrome may include mental status changes such as irritability, altered consciousness, confusion, hallucinations, and coma; autonomic dysfunction such as tachycardia, hyperthermia, diaphoresis, shivering, blood pressure lability, and mydriasis; neuromuscular abnormalities such as hyperreflexia, myoclonus, tremor, rigidity, and ataxia; and gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal cramping, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Klonopin can also dull the effects of amphetamines.

Man I knew i shouldn't of got on that stuff they put me on it in treatment. I have alot of those symptoms but I'm also wding lol. I should just stop taking it wait till my brain heals itself from 4yrs on opiates and see where I'm at. Theres supposed to be depression coming off subs so for all I know in a few months the lexapro will be fuckin with me more then helping.

Try it without baking soda.
Baking soda severely dehydrates your body, and causes dysphoria.
I too have had a similar problem, I got cut off on my adderall prescription, and didn't take any for a whole month. Then, my friend gave me some of his. I drank 2 teaspoons of baking soda a half hour before taking the pills, and they did nothing at all whatsoever.

I'm almost positive it was the baking soda -- it has never helped me potentiate my adderall (even though people say it does), it only makes me feel like shit and super dehydrated.

If I was on both of these meds, I wouldn't feel shit form dexedrine either.

I am prejudicial to these two drugs as well as most SSRI's so I am not going to be willing to ever go on either, for any reason.

I would slowly taper off of it, if you have been on it for less than 2 weeks you could stop taking it without discomfort, but after months of being on it (I'm not sure how long it's been for you), then you should taper.

If the lexapro is actually helping you, you can stay on it, but I get the feeling that only "some" people are helped by it. I have heard people who say "It helps me", and I don't doubt them. However I have heard lots of bad things from people, if it isn't doing you any good, then I would get off it.

I got off the lexapro 3 days ago. I was only on it for less then 3 weeks. The dexedrine still isn't working but I heard it takes awhile to get the ssri's outs your system.
