Has anyone coming off opiates noticed long term issues with their stomach? It’s been upset and off since I stopped and I know diaherrea is a common withdrawal but this is more than that.

The only meds I’m taking regularly are clonidine, hydrozxyine and ibuprofen.

Anyone had similar effects from methadone or Suboxone abuse?

Its normal for 2 weeks.

Depends on your appetite. If its strong, you are good. I would eat too much. But cramps up hard.

Either way now is a perfect time to see a doctor and get checked out. You may have an alien growing in there you IV from the darknet. Whatever insurance you have...use it up I would say. Don't take any meds, but know your health numbers.

The 1st 60 days is completely fucked, but you should be feeling loads better by then.

Honestly your right and a kid cooked me pork that was like expired who knows I need a full blood panel and all.

Thanks

i can't do it lately. and i am only on opioids.

some day i will have to go through it again.

it is quite a challenge and quite the strain.

it has been said that it can be done and it is true that you can get through and is possible.

have a good mind set. get ready and prepare. and you will get through.

i have done it two times already. and really cutting back (taper) has also been a godsend benefit all the way up to jumping off it. ☺👍🏼

Do you think my stomach pain should be more of a concern than opiate related? I’m worried I might have some sort of parasite infection. I mean it’s been like 2 weeks it seemed my poop was becoming solid but last week my symptoms got worse and my stomach has been a pretty constant issue since then.

I was gonna buy parantel which kills off any worm infection which honestly I may have gotten from the shitty food someone gave me.

Im going grocery shopping it’s hard to eat healthy here but I’ll get some probiotics and tums to see if that helps

Give more details on the stomach pain. Is it constant?

When coming off methadone would certainly have stomach issues at 2 weeks. But they would not be constant. More or less after eating / before using the bathroom my stomach would be tore up with cramps.

But what you are describing is somewhat normal. If you are still seeing this at 45+ days it would be concerning.

Also how is your appetite? You should be eating and getting hungry again within hours. If you aren't I would be concerned. But at such a fast taper that you did it may take a bit longer. No hunger could be a cause for concern.

For me when i went from a daily H users to a bupe users to cold turking myself of the bupe in a matter of a week it still took me a month to get back to normal bowl movements and the pain and cramping you wake up with in your lower abdominal area, so with that said I guess (once again a personal point of view) it might take you less or longer to get back to normal or as some has suggested there might even be a worse underlining problem that might need some professional help. i wish you the best.

But as for the abdominal or stomach problems, can you give us a little more insight if you comfortable with that.

Maybe I’m being paranoid and you guys are right. You both summed it up pretty accurately honestly. I’ve been eating pretty hungry.

It seems my stomach acts up the most after eating, the last few days I experienced some slight morning nausea which has never been a symptom for me (never thrown up from opiate WD).

It’s been about a month off methadone but I was on subutex to taper for 2 weeks or so I’m definitely still recovering from both.

It’s just like my stomach is uneasy, lots of gas, diarrhea, slight pain but nothing crazy.

My diet hasnt been the best cause of my situation lots of take out foods, dairy, grains / bread.

I mean it also could just be like a stomach bug or food poisoning I mean the dewormer is like $10 maybe I’ll do it anyways but I think maybe I’m just being paranoid it’s just annoying to be in group therapy holding my stomach, making weird noses and running to the bathroom to shit my brains out lol.

Good old opiates right 😆😅

if anything your diet doesnt sound that bad and i still think it's just your body adapting to the new situation if you know what i mean. I remember when i did the my detox, i use to wake up like clock work every morning at 4am having to take a shit as my stomach was growling and cramping up badly. But that also subsided or got better over time for example, it moved from 4am to 5am to 6am then till the point it was just a normal morning Bathroom call and not so loose and everywhere (yeah gross pic in the mind) So just hang in there, im sure it will get better but if it doesn't then maybe get some professional input or something.

I agree.

This sounds pretty normal.

Appetite being good is a good thing. Will take some time to adjust. As its almost a shock to your system having normal digestion.

Also your body has to shed all that shit that was stored in you. Once I shit and it looked like it was sooooo old. Stuck in me for years. Swear I saw a spider web in it too. As long as there is no blood, I think its fine.

As for this new worm, sounds like a trump conspiracy to me :p However getting checked out wouldn't be a bad idea. Full blood panel, etc. Make sure you don't have hep C, or other liver damage as well.

While the withdrawal is still going to ramp up a bit until around day 30, you are certainly in it at 2 weeks off. You shouldn't be getting worse if at all with stomach issues, though. If you see it getting worse over the next days I would get to the doctor asap since it could be something else like you said,

Probiotics as you mentioned would be good for you now as well.
