Starting antibiotics 4 days after unprotected oral sex

So stupidly I got a blowjob from a random girl I met while drunk on vacation. I cheated on my girlfriend and we made out and went down on each other without protection. We never had sex, just oral.

I'm concerned that I might have caught something and I don't want to give my girlfriend anything I got. I had a full course of antibiotics on hand (azithromcin) and am taking it currently while I am saying that I'm sick to avoid hooking up with my girl.

My question is, will this course of antibiotics work if I started it 4 days after the encounter, not knowing if I caught anything or not? I assume it will kill gonorrhea or syphilis, but I'm not sure if the infection started or not or if it is too soon to take the antibiotics.

What are my chances that I caught something, and secondly, what are my odds that this will kill whatever it is before it starts?

You would be at risk for herpes...if she had it. Antibiotics won't touch that.

STI's are most commonly passed from vaginal-penile or penile-anal intercourse, however there is still a risk of getting a bacterial infection from oral sex. Bacterial infections (syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia) are all usually curable if you detect them in their early stages. Warts and herpes, not so much. There are drugs on the market to treat warts or herpes of the mouth, but once you have herpes you have it forever. Same thing with HIV; HIV can be passed orally and is not curable like a bacterial infection.

The chances of you catching something? Who knows. It was with a "random girl on vacation", chances are she's doing it to other "random guys" on vacation. The higher her number of unprotected (and even protected) sex partners, the more your risk of catching something goes up.

Tell your girlfriend what happened. If you don't tell her and you continue to "treat" yourself with azithromycin and it doesn't cure what you may have, she's gonna find out when SHE has a STD and has been faithful to you. You can't hide STD's forever.

Taking a random anti-biotic isn't going to heal all potential STI's. You need to see a Doctor and get tested.
