"Sourcing" question

After about, oh, 30-45 min of searching for a specific answer I thought I'd just drop this in "Support."
Forgive me if it's the wrong place.
Just a simple quick question....What is the particular reason(s) that sourcing is so frowned upon?

In the interest of "harm reduction" it seems that sourcing here would be a good way of avoiding
abuse via non-understanding & unsympathetic government officials.
It also seems a good way of avoiding low quality, or, dangerous substances.

One more...If I were to PM someone and that turned into personal communication via email
& that evolved into a trusting relationship which, in turn morphed into a source, would that
be a frowned-upon thing in Bluelight (not that it would probably even be discovered)?

Thanks!

We're not here to help people score. Doing so would pose a risk to the site and it's members.

There are other sites out there that will help you achieve this, but we're not one of them.

along with what tambo said, we don't want vendors to come on here and start selling/advertising their wares. it would make the site rather messy. it would be hard to tell who is posting genuine vendors and who is trying to dis competitors/draw traffic to their own site.

what you do in your own time is up to you. what would be frowned upon is you forming a friendship with another BLer, then coming on here and saying something like "so and so just sent me the best coke ever". or PMing people out of the blue asking them to email you or anything like that

It's illegal and it would take up way too much space, getting in the way of 'harm reduction' threads which is what this site was built on and continues to be committed to. And nobody want's to be bothered with receiving sourcing PMs. I don't want people bugging me to hook them up with drugs just because they saw that I live in the same state as them and use the same drugs they like and they can't find a dealer on their own. That's not my problem and I don't want to hear about it.

It's not a good way of avoiding abuse (although I don't think that you were referring to physical abuse like I am). We have received complaints here from people that have met up with someone to exchange drugs for money and they were instead beaten up and robbed. The same risks are involved here as they are in 'real life.' As far as government officials go, well they will have an easy time finding you guilty of drug sale or solicitation when the discussion of the transaction is all written out as proof. The bottom line is that you never know who is on the other end of the computer screen!

Another thing I am wondering about your post is how would it be a good way of avoiding low quality substances like you mentioned? You are probably more likely to get ripped off here than you are from a dealer in your town. If someone is shipping you drugs then they may either rip you off right off the bat, or bait you for a while until you make a large purchase, and then boom, you got ripped off for a substantial amount of money.

There is no such thing as a trusted relationship online. That's not to say that there aren't some amazing people on here that you can befriend and talk to, but you can't trust someone on here just because you have been chatting back and forth for a while, especially if the basis of your conversation is an exchange of drugs.
