i saw a posting a while ago where someone asked if anyone had ever actually smoked a "jeffrey" - which is a joint from get him to the greek - consisting of weed, opium, heroine, ecstacy, methadone, subutex, morphine, and peyote...
everyone bashed the hell out of the person for asking a stupid question, but i would like to provide a reasonably intelligent response to his inquiry...
i have never smoked a "jeffrey" - not because im afraid, but simply because it would be - for the most part - entirely ineffective...
for starters, you can't "smoke" ecstacy... so that would be useless... secondly, you can smoke any variety of the other opiates listed in there (morphine, heroine, opium, and the "anti opiates" for lack of a better term, such as methadone, and subutex). however, while it sounds crazy and would fuck you up beyond belief... its a total scam and here's why:
first of all - smoking opiates, all opiates, has one of the lowest bioavailabilities possible - meaning smoking heroine, or oxycontin, or opium - has far less of an effect on fucking you up then it would, if you snort it, or inject it or simply ingest it... so smoking opiates in a nutshell, is a "waste" due to the fact that while it will hit you quickly, the "power" of the drug will not be nearly as strong as it would have been if you sniffed it or spiked it by comparison... so smoking all those drugs wouldn't really fuck you up all that much in general, simply due to the fact that you are smoking it. now if you crushed all those together and sniffed a fat line, or cooked it up and spiked it with a needle - now you're singing a totally different tune. but for the purpose of this guy's original question, smoking it won't do shit by comparison.
secondly - when adding methadones, and subutex in particular, are "anti opiates" in lamens terms. methadone does not get you "high", it essentially tricks your brain into thinking that you have opiates in your system, but does not provide you with the euphoric effects, meaning you won't get withdrawls, and will feel ok for the most part, but you won't get high. subutex on the other hand, not only takes away the withdrawls, but it actually acts as an opiate "blocker"... "blockers" such as suboxone, or subutex, quite literally shut down the part of your brain that allows for opiates to have their euphoric effect. so if you take a subutex for example, then 3 hours later try getting high on opiates - you won't feel a fuckin thing and you will have just wasted all your money. you could bang out 5 80mg oxys and you won't feel shit. so those types of drugs literally don't allow for you to get high after you take them, even if you wanted to...
with this in mind, the fact that in the movie, they are combining a number of potentially fun opiates into the mix - but smoking them, takes away the ability to fell their full effect in the first place. but more importantly, by also combining them with opiate "blockers" - it will be impossible for your brain to feel the euphoric effects of the opiates, even if you theoretically did smoke enough of them to get high.
so in conclusion - its made for TV, and not logically or realistically feasible. the only thing you may feel off the "jeffrey", is being stoned on the pot, and you may trip your balls off to some extent from the peyote, and/or pcp. everything else however, would be a total waste of time and money.
