I have read countless pages, threads and books about meth addiction, and since I was about 10 years old I've known that it was considered one of the most addictive drugs out there.
Is it possible to maintain a normal life (work, relationships, stable sober mentality) after trying meth a few times. More specifically, if one were to smoke meth would it be the only thing on their mind for the rest of their lives (like every other person preaches) or are you able to use this drug for rationally for recreation purposes? Say, 1-2 times a month?
Another thing that has me scratching my head, is it possible to keep yourself "yourself" while under the influence of meth? I've seen people smoke meth and they're 100% like they are sober, minus some minor twitching or speaking problems (stuttering, talking about nothing or in circles, or verbalizing inner-secrets) and other times I've seen people smoke meth out of the same bag and they're hardly able to act human; can't talk, stand, look straight, keep quiet/loud, or they start acting mentally unstable (harming oneself, harming other people around them, screaming at inanimate objects, etc.)
Also, along with addiction, how hard is it to keep onto your money once you've started using meth? I've seen people go homeless because they spend their rent money on meth, or people starve their children because getting a 20-sack of crystal is more important to them than buying a few burgers. Along with that I've seen other people live normal lives and do meth regularly, they're reliable, are able to pay their bills, don't steal, don't lie, don't care about their next high unless they have spare money laying around.
I'd like to try meth, as it's been offered to me by several people recently who seem to keep their addiction under control. I grew up to every last person in my family, with the exception of my mother, having a severe addiction to their DOC.. usually meth or heroin. I want to try it, even though I know and understand what a fucked-up drug it can be (second-hand.) I don't want to turn into my father, who has before fought and stabbed people for that next bump.
I've done literally every other drug available in my area, including crack, heroin, and probably 200 different kinds of pills ranging from OxyContin to Ativan to Ambian, back across the table to ecstasy and RC's molded into different shapes. I manage to keep myself out of addiction by telling myself "once it goes this far, I'll stop" (which I do when that drug's all that's on my mind, or I have the urge to steal money or do anything violent or illegal really).
I'm all for harm-reduction, the last thing I want is to go into this blind and end up fucking my life more than it already is. I'm 100% doing this drug, either tomorrow evening or Sunday morning. I'd just rather be somewhat educated on what I know little about than to have things spiral out of control with me destroying everything in my path.
Thanks to whom who've spent the time to read my post, I appreciate all replies but try to keep replies saying "ohh oh, meth is bad--don't even do it!" out of this thread. I understand what I'm getting myself into, I just want answers to my questions and possible advice. Nothing more.
