Hi all.
I'm new to the site.
Iv been addicted to opiates and benzos for a long time now.
After years of treatment/ rehabs I am doing relatively well and have reduced my intake to what won't get me high. Basically I ain't trying to get high anymore, but sort my life out.
I have a new baby and a decent job now.
I'm currently prescribed
8mg suboxone
40mg Valium

Today I was prescribed lyrica ( as I have problems with my nerves in my hand)
I'm not wanting to know how to get high off it, but was wondering if anyone had any info on the interactions of these drugs.
I don't want to be turning out for my new job off my nut

I did a google search.
Was just trying to find some personal experience.
I know some people use them to get high. I just don't want to end up enjoying the experience too much and end up relapsing etc.
 
I have some personal experience with Gaba, Subs, and Xanax; similar but not quite the same. IME they all go together fine, like the Capt. said, they are all CNS depressants, but at the same time if you're experienced and don't down a whole bottle of each, you should be fine. The lyrica and valium together will definitely be sedating in the right dose, so be careful initially. When I first started on gaba, it knocked me out, same with xanax. Over time, tolerance built.

Your doctor/google should be able to tell you if there is any clinical data on the combo, but they may not support any ad hoc personal info that you'll get from resources like this. Be careful, and good luck.
 
Captain Heroin. Thanks for the resource. I checked it out and it explains about the increased CNS depression/ sedation effects.
The lyrica was prescribed to me by a traumatologist, whereas my other meds are from the drug dependency unit.
He suggested stopping the subs and benzos.
I explained to him that I can't, and he seemed pretty happy for me to take them anyways.
Just said that I would possibly feel a little more groggy than usual for a few days.
My main concern was that it would affect my job. I'm a chef and have to be pretty alert.
Iv taken my first few doses. And feel ok.
As you said I'm sure I will ajust fairly quickly.
 
A lot of people have used Lyrica successfully to quit opiates and benzos. It really helps with withdrawal symptoms.
Maybe you should taper off the diazepam and just replace it with the Lyrica.
Use this turn of events to your advantage.

Save the valium for after work, that's what I would do. :)
