And it has become MUCH harder to get (at least IME). I get it prescribed, and I used to get a refill script whenever I needed with no issues from my Dr. Just recently, I finished my script a few days early, saw my Dr. and got a new one, went to the pharmacy and got rejected. They told me I have to wait until the date indicated by the quantity x dosing instructions on the original script, similarly to how opiates are regulated. This prompted me to look Soma up online and sure enough, wikipedia states Soma has been federally scheduled in the US as of this past January.
Sucks.
We all have different metabolisms and Soma is widely variable, but for me it is almost consistently euphoric. I may be lucky in this regard, I also know a good euphoria when I experience it as I've been a moderately heavy Oxy user for a long time. I do not, however, have good 0-desmethyltramadol metabolism, so Tram has always been useless to me regardless of dose. Ah well, I'm partially lucky.
Getting to the second part of my post, where I have some general questions about the mechanism of Soma. I've read from several sources that Soma can potentially cause seizures? Does anyone know how likely this is? Is it more in combination with other chemicals, or on it's own it is known to cause them like Tramadol? I think it's pretty clear Tramadol is the king of the seizure inducers, but I've been reading more and more about this with Soma.
Reason I ask is I've been off Tramadol for a while and never had the two prescribed at the same time. But now I'm back on Tramadol, Soma, Oxycodone, and a new script for the reformulated Opana ER (bleh). There are days my pain is not as severe, so I can get away with not taking Oxy IR and switch to a bit of Tramadol, which is where this is coming from. My Dr. doesn't seem to think combining Soma and Tram is an issue, but I'd rather be on the side of caution ( I take Soma daily).
What do you guys think?
