Cocaine Soma (Carisoprodol) On A Cocaine Comedown

Most drug interaction checkers won't list cocaine (used internally) so you may not find much good information there (since its medical indication is for topical use.)

Carisoprodol will likely help ameliorate the symptoms of a cocaine comedown. The main concern that I would think of with this combination would be seizure, as stimulants increase the chance of seizure and carisoprodol can lower the threshold for some types of seizures. Benzodiazepines are the best option, but carisoprodol (in a reasonable dose) should be fairly safe.

^ In general, mixing uppers and downers isn't really inherently dangerous. Specific upper and downer combinations can be - this is epitomized by speed balls where people sometimes use too much heroin not realizing it given the potency of the cocaine but due to the disparity in their respective durations, can overdose on the heroin when the cocaine wears off.

Many chronic pain patients taking higher doses of opioids and possibly other sedating medications are prescribed drugs like modafinil or even amphetamines to combat the opioid-induced sedation. Often times patients receive both amphetamines and benzodiazepines because they concurrently have ADHD and anxiety symptoms. The standard treatment for cocaine overdose is actually valium!

I'm not saying people should go out and start combining loads of stimulants and sedatives but the dangers of certain combinations have lead people to incorrectly induce that any stimulant and sedative combination is risky or harmful and this isn't exactly the case.
