Sobriety Sucks!

I went through rehab for the 4th time last winter.My girlfriend and parents are very supportive,but thats it.I have no friends anymore because I plan on taking it seriously this time. I still take shrooms once a month or have an occasional cocktail,but the thrill is gone for other drugs.
I was completely out of control taking almost any substance in combo with almost any other, living out of hotel rooms all over the country,pushin mad weight,now NOTHING!
I miss the excitement of the lifestyle as much as the drugs!!
Now I go to work, school then home. I can't stand the boredom even though I know it's the right thing to do.
Anyone else out there!?!?!?!?!?!

Were you forced to go to re-hab? I think addiction treatment is a life long process, and you must want to recover for it to work. Re-hab doesn’t end (as you are discovering), Re-hab is the begging of a life long process. It sounds like you are holding on to a lot of baggage. You will need to rid yourself of that to feel whole. You must look past the addictions you have overcome and begin to understand the underling ills that caused you to loose (or not maintain) control. Until you heal your wounds you will keep going back until it kicks your ass.
There is a piece of your puzzle missing. You will only find it with in you. Excitement and amazement are everywhere, you just need to let them in. You can not do it alone.

I agree, fucking being sober, life sucks without chemicals.. everything is boring, and it has ALWAYS been this way.. if anything, the drugs are just like a really good anti-depressant.. the only problem with drug addiction is that the supply of drugs is usually not steady enough..
