Have you ever felt, after many days of being high all the time, that soberity feels like a different kind of high? That how I feel right now, after more than a week of being high all the time.

dude i just spent a week sober cept for my bedtime joints and fuuuuuck no i was not high lol

I think you mean sobriaty.

It does not feel like a high, but it just takes you a while to get used to it.

soberity, sobriaty, potatoe potato.

not being high feels like being low

bored and anhedonic.

It's actually sobriety, no? *sigh*

But nah, after days of being high, it doesn't feel like a high, more like a low. I guess it works the same whether you're an upper or a downer person... Ever heard of stim comedown or opioid/benzo withdrawal?

Maybe they're just bored, and that's why the use. Thats not exactly them not enjoying sobriety.

I certainly wouldn't call it being "high" or "intoxicated," but a commonly repeated quote comes to mind: "when you're high all the time, being sober's a trip."

I agree in the sense that once you're so used to being under the influence of certain drugs, experiencing life for a bit without them can be a completely different experience compared to the new norm that you're used to. Some people forget what it feels like to be sober after being high all the time, and revisiting sobriety even if only for a short time can be interesting and sometimes even pleasant to some people. Others are in immense emotional pain or have other unresolved issues, and the escape that drugs afford them is a panacea and can even be life saving in the short term if they are actively suicidal.

It's worth a shot, give yourself some time away from the drugs. You can always get high whenever you want to, those drugs aren't going anywhere and you owe it to yourself to experience new things in life.
