How did the "bar stick to your hand?" Sounds like you were using wrist straps? I never use wrist straps. Straps are bad news.
I have converted to taping my wrists though, after years of olympic lifts my wrists have started to hurt a lot and pop quite frequently when I put the bar down (I don't drop it, ever).
Between week in week out squats, deadlifts, olympic lifts, abs like crazy, cardio multiple times, etc etc etc and everything else lifting, sleeping on a defunct air mattress for over a year and working hour after hour at my computer in this pitiful cheap wooden chair on this science paper... I threw my back out bad after a long multiple hour session in the chair without getting up once one night, and then later that night the bed (for the X #th time this year) lost air overnight on me causing me to stress and strain it for hours while I slept.
I woke up with the worst back pain I've had in years. I mean I have back pain from lifting pretty much all the time, but this is something else.
I can't even sit in the chair anymore. I have my computer bolstered up on a stand at the table and just stand here when I work, which is every night so long as the pain is not so much all I can do is lay on the ground or lean on a counter/wall until I sleep. I have no couches or nice chairs or anything, just a few cheapo lawn chairs that hurt my back too if I sit in them for more than a few minutes.
My wrist and right thumb is all fucked up too from using the mouse too much at the wooden table. I have to tape up my wrist and thumb when I want to do work at night or else it is just pain pain pain.
I guess I should hit up that "ice ice ice" advice.
Anyways through it all I just keep lifting, like a dumbass, but fuck I have type 1 diabetes and have to exercise or else. I haven't been able to bar squat in over a month. I can do overhead squat just fine though, it is just anything that compresses my spine I can't deal with, so as long as the bar doesn't touch my shoulders when I go down I am ok. I just did deadlifts heavy (405 lbs a few single reps at the workout apex) for the first time in as long last week, and am feeling it bad again all weekend and week of course.
I have kept up my olympic lifts though. Last few weeks I have done a single rep 225 pound clean & press at the peak of my workouts (I'm 5'11" - 178 lbs) which I am happy with for now.
Sorry I just littered here, but the thread title is exactly what I keep saying to myself. I hurt my back and neck way back in Feb-March a few times too. The shit just won't stop.
I did buy a new mattress a week ago though, and it is helping a little bit... I just have no spare money now. And for some god forsaken reason my right knee is popping every time I go from having it bent to straight, so I'm standing even more now. Pretty much all day because it is pain pain pain if I don't. But even standing hurts too so pain pain pain we are inseparable.
Fortunately I do have this CJC-1293 and I think it's about time for a shot since I haven't had one in a week or so. Err maybe I need a few days worth of shots.......
