Opioids Snorting vicoden?

Ok. So every once and a while my bf and I get some vicoden and the person who sells it told us, take like three pills and snort half of one so u can get some immediate effects. We did this and I felt an immediate rush it didnt burn to bad like some people said and then about 45 min the oral pills kicked in. Well we got it and did it again..well I decided to google it (because I use a lot of dxm and know that it is absolutely in effective when snorted so I decided to check references to be sure that snorting vicoden wasn't bullshit and placibu). I got mixed reviews. Some said it worked better for an immediate rush but just the same as oral. Other sources said you couldn't snort it at all and its ineffective. Well I do feel an immediate rush when I snort small amounts but I'm not sure if it is as strong as if I just ate. I am impatient so I don't mind the burn as long as I just get the same effects sooner. I did read its more unhealthy but that's not my concern or question, I don't use vicoden enough. I just aant to know effectiveness and not wasting product. I'm not too familiar with many opioids except vicoden and pods in tea occasionally. I feel deffinatly high now, I snorted a pill am took 3 pills less than 10 min ago.
 
It kicks in faster but I think the BA is higher orally, plus you're clogging the shit out of your sinuses with APAP. It wont technically waste that much product because you're likely to swallow everything that doesn't absorb, which is a LOT considering the volume of snortable powder, but you will lose some to be blown out of your nose in the shower the next morning.

In conclusion, snorting vicodin is a stupid method of administration.
 
^ Agreed, if you plug it with an oral syringe you wouldn't even need to CWE (cold water extract) the APAP/acetaminophen, as intrarectal APAP is safe and sold as suppositories.

Other than that, just pop them on an empty stomach, then eat 20 min later. Hydrocodone and oxycodone have a very quick onset rate, so they are almost "rushy" when taken orally.

Don't mess up your nasal membranes with a shitload of APAP, it will just clog them up and not allow the tiny amount of hydrocodone (5-20ng) to be absorbed in the first place.
 
You can't snort them. The tylenol, not only will fuck up your sinus's, but it will also prevent some hydro from being absorbed. Just eat them
 
Well I'm high as fuck so it did work because before I posted I decided to snort one. Maybe what didnt get absorbed I just swallowed? Btw I'm good on plugging, nothing goes up my ass I'm sorry, I'm not into that lol. I only take things orally or snort. I obviously got somethin off it maybe just from swallowing? What is apap? I don't know much about vicoden.

The only thing you got from snorting it was what was absorbed from the drip..

It's much more efficient to just take them orally. APAP is acetaminophen aka tylenol. Something Vicodin is filled with and is also not water soluble, hence making snorting vicodin pointless.
 
Well I got more of a rush from snorting than the actual pill...could it be that its crushed? Maybe if I crushed it first then ate it if get a similiar rush except more effective? I think the pill dissolving is slowing it down when I just swallow it whole.
 
Crushing it up and swallowing it is the most effective way to do it, and it saves your sinuses from being torn up from crushed APAP.

You gotta remember that Vicodin is mostly Tylenol (APAP). So you're really snorting Tylenol. Don't snort Vicodin.
 
You should try educating yourself about pills you're buying before using them. Just because your friend tells you that you'll get higher from snorting it doesn't make it a good idea. You don't even know how much hydrocodone or Tylenol you've just ingested.

At least learn to do a cold water extraction to avoid getting poisoned from all that Tylenol. That stuff can kill you.
 
It's someone who's regularly prescribed so we know the dose and I researched that. He said he always snorts it but that's why I looked it up and decided to ask because I know not everything is most effective that way (example, me mentioning earlier how I know dxm even in powder can't be snorted).

I followed his advice this time but that's why I came here.

I usually research things very well myself but after I took it this time I realized I just used other people's advice instead of researching the chemical on my own.

I shouldn't have to explain myself like this. I feel pretty defensive right now. I wasn't comming in here to get heat, I just wanted help or advice.

Edit: I did take the constructive advice though and tried crushing a pill and putting on my tongue and then swallowing. I got the same rush I got from snorting it. This explains why when I took solid pills I didn't get a rush but when snorting them I did. Ill use this method in the future.

^ you don't need to be defensive. Yes you should research drugs you're putting into your body, but that's what you're doing right here. You're doing more than most people would.

I do have to agree with everyone else in saying it's best to just swallow them. I do notice a much better effect if taken on an empty stomach, maybe with a spoonful of peanut butter or something a bit before.
 
Yeah, I had trusted the advice of the guy we got it from but when I googled it and got conflicting results I posted here. Thanks for the advice though, this site had been very helpful and I really think that what its doing by helping with harm reduction is a very positive thing.
 
If you have seen the size of a 5mg or 10mg tablet of oxycodone alone, you'd realize how much shit you're putting into your nose without any real effect. 5mg oxycodone is equivalent to like 3.5mg of hydrocodone, both of which when formulated alone are incredibly small in size. The size of a crushed oxycodone 30mg, for instance is probably less volume than half of one vicodin, and the vicodin version would contain 1/9th the amount of analgesic.
