Hey guys,

I have a script for 5mg oxy pills (blue ones with oxy one side 5 on the other). A couple weeks ago I started snorting them sometimes, I snorted maybe 6-7 of them over 2 weeks. A few days after snorting the last pill I noticed some trouble breathing (couldn't take a deep satisfying breath) and I went to the ER and the doc said I had a lung infection based on what he saw on the x-ray, however my GP a few weeks later saw and said she didn't think it was an infection :S.

Anyways, I was wondering if snorting these oxy pills caused this problem (has anyone else experienced this?) or if it was unrelated. I obviously haven't snorted them since this but I did like the effect compared to taking orally but it isn't worth causing lung problems.

Thanks.

I havent personally experienced this problem, but I used to snort my 15s and 30s. The trouble breathing after snorting is not from infection.. It is from the immediate release of medication into your system that can cause serious respiratory distress if done enough over time... Also, snorting them is highly addictive man.. I snorted those things for years, and that was the hardest habit to break till my newest one... (Teehee) Good luck to you and stay safe...:sus:

^ No it's actually more likely that the binders and crud are accumulating in your lungs... Snorting pills is very bad for your lungs and nasal cavity and what's even more funny is that with oxycodone less is absorbed nasally than orally, just eat the pills. If you want a rush then the next best option is to take them rectally. Please, just stop snorting these, to top it off there 5mg pills so your snorting hundreds of milligrams of binder and inactive to get to the small amount of goodies. If your pills have APAP then that's even worse. Don't smoke pills either...

Yeah I figured it wasn't the best idea.. I'll stick to swallowing them lol.

Thanks for the quick responses.

As for the respiratory depression caused by opiates, I don't think that was the problem cause I was having trouble breathing days after snorting them not right away.

Its inflammation from your membranes being sensitive to opioids. You are not having lung problems from accumulation of binders and such from snorting 6 or 7 small pills. It is not an infection. It is an allergy to the medication, that is it.

I'd have to disagree with this. It's very rare for someone to actually be allergic to opiates, in the technical sense. If he was truly having an allergic reaction, this would have happened when he took them orally also. It's more than likely the powder shooting into his lungs right after he snorts it.
