Sniff Dogs Introduces New Service to Discreetly Monitor for Drugs

SUMMIT, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Launching to coincide with the back-to-school season, Sniff Dogs, LLC, the first enterprise of its kind in the country, offers a confidential drug detection service for parents and others who may be concerned about the possession of drugs by children or employees in the home or commercial premises. Founded by a Union County woman, Sniff Dogs uses specially trained canines to locate drugs – including marijuana, cocaine, heroin, methadone, xanax and ecstasy – as a private service with no law enforcement or government affiliation.

Sniff Dogs uses certified drug detection canines to search the premises. This discovery helps a parent facilitate a fact-based conversation with their loved ones regarding drug use, allowing for early intervention. While potential addiction is always a concern, self-medication, drugged driving, quality of non-controlled substances and legal ramifications of possession should be a concern for all parents.

Sniff Dogs was founded by Summit, N.J. mother, who learned that even casual drug use could have potentially catastrophic consequences that follow a child throughout his or her life. She began researching various ways to be vigilant during her children’s vulnerable teen years. Prior to Sniff Dogs, the options for private, proactive assessments were extremely limited and universally intrusive. She launched Sniff Dogs to help parents achieve a balance between blind trust and informed parenting.

“I was shocked there were not better – more discreet – options out there for parents to turn to,” the Summit woman says. “My research, including talking to other parents, turned up compelling evidence that parents should seize control before the situation is out of control and I believe our approach fosters a more supportive and family-friendly solution for intervention.”

Sniff Dogs is launching as a nationwide corporation helping parents discreetly keep a caring eye on their children, and enables others – such as private commercial premises and educational institutions – to confirm that their premises remain drug free. Branches in Ohio and New Jersey tri-state area have already been established and additional Sniff Dogs operations will be launching soon.

I actually think this is a good idea. bottom line if you are getting high in your parents house and they don't want that crap on there property this gives them a fighting chance.

Fighting chance for what? Do you think that'll deter the kid from stashing his drugs outside of the house? 8)

There are so many ways around this, and drug testing, it's not even funny.

Proof that personal liberty dies a little more each day.

This makes me wanna bang my head against the wall. Money spent better elsewhere...

It just boggles me at how dumb this idea is. I'd hate to be this mom's kids lol.

I'm a little torn. If my boss was hiring a dog to patrol the building once a week or whatever, I'd be pissed.

What's in my pockets is my business.

then don't bring it to work with you

There was this other article that from way back about drug-sniffing wasps that I think would be a better way to keep kids from doing drugs. Dogs just bark, I'm pretty sure a swarm of wasps would just sting the shit out of you and that's how you would know there were drugs.

As a matter of fact, I think the only thing wasps can be trained to do in reaction to anything is to just sting the living shit out of everything.

What a fucking waste of time and resources. 8)
According to who? You? It's a private service so who cares? If this was a program put on by the local PD, ya I can see it being a waste of time and resources, but it's going to be used by people who deem it not a waste of time or resources.

It sucks, but you have to admit, it's a good idea. I wonder what the going rates are.

I'll bet you this is the first job she's held in 15 years, and that her kids are going to have drug problems due to her psycho nature

ugh

Well put. I don't think it's a good idea to use this service, but I really couldn't care less if it's available from a non gov't entity. Hell, in 15-20 years parents will probably be using electronic sniffers. :\

Hmmmm yeah sure the people who use it will think it's great but I still think it's a total waste. Do you know how much time and effort goes in to training those dogs?? Years of work! And I can't help imagining some meddlesome paranoid (and probably rich, considering how much this service would probably cost) mother snooping around her teenagers' rooms.
Massive assumption I know! But it's what comes to my mind when I think about this. :)

Ok check it out, this isn't all bad. Lets say you lost your stash somewhere in your house during your benzo black or cocaine induced paranoia. And it's a significant amount of drugs...enough so that hiring a sniffer dog would be worth the investment.

the service is confidential, so basically they can find your stash (and maybe some other drugs you lost along the way) for a fee, instead of tearing apart your house by yourself.

I know there are more than a few times when I wished I had a sniffer dog to smell out my lost drugs. I'm pretty sure I still have a bag of heroin, a bag of coke, and a $10 piece of some heady weed somewhere inside my car. Obviously it wouldn't be worth it for me to hire these douches.

It's pretty lame that someone would hire these dogs for their workplace or for their children. But i think it would be pretty sweet for recovering your lost drugs. I can only imagine all the stuff you could find at some bluelighter's places with one of these dogs.

Still, if you mom and dad don't want you to be hiding your weed/coke what ever in there house this gives them a fighting chance to keep you from doing it.

parents do get charged for what there children hide in there houses.
