Frumious Bandersnatch
Sitting on the couch and looking sad
was the man who was staring at me
through the TV screen
it was a boring show
because the TV was turned off
giving cold realities
the evening sun's indifferent glare
highlighted our connection
and it was still light out
at 7pm on some forgettable summer day
the alcohol is not working anymore
the inevitable indecision was hanging in the air
I stood up to fetch another beer
