Smoking Base Heroin in a Bong?

I just finished reading, in the Heroin megathread, the method of smoking #3 heroin with tinfoil and a straw. It says that it's an inefficient method since obviously tons of smoke is going to be wasted.

I was thinking, couldn't the process be improved by smoking it through a bong, holding the heroin smoke in a chamber to prevent loss?

Has anyone tried this? Is it feasible? Experiences please!
 
Is it water soluble, though? I was under the impression that it wasn't, which is why you can't snort #3 heroin.

But it doesn't have to be a water bong. Really just a large chamber so that, while lighting, you could pull the smoke into a chamber and then inhale it from there, keeping the smoke from drifting off wastefully.
 
i'm kind of out of my element here, this being about heroin, but you do not want a substance smoked through a bong to be water soluble. or maybe that was what was being said, and a post was edited before i saw it, making me confused about this conversation.
 
i thought if a substance IS soluble in water, and you put it through a bong, the water traps it. I know THC isnt water soluble..i thought its lipid soluble.
 
I think the biggest potential problem is that the heroin would be a powder, so you couldn't just sit it on the top of a grill like most bongs are built to do with flakes or buds. Not hard to circumvent, but a bit of an issue.
 
Ah, convenient! I've never had #3, nor am I necessarily planning on getting it anytime soon. Just curious, it's one of those pieces of information that I'd like to have that might come into play down the road.
 
I'm guessing #3 is the stuff we get in Europe? Its made for smoking, cut with caffeine, honestly you don't waste that much smoking off of foil once you get the hang of it.

Also it is possible to snort it.

I don't think the bong would be such a good idea unless you were doing tiny amounts as the point is to make it run otherwise it'll just burn up. A lightbulb vaporiser can work I suppose but its still not as good as chasing.
 
lol I don't know. I've never even seen heroin in my life. I'm assuming though, like someone above said, that you don't really need that much smoke so I probably wouldn't use water. I'll use my bong dry with cannabis sometimes though too.
 
I've smoked Euroscag through a bong with and without water. It worked fine for me but I was never much of a smoker of the stuff so was only for novelty value. Watch the amounts you use cos it'll give you a hell of a smack if you overdo it. Not sure if the water meant I wasted more cos I didn't care at the time cos I had plenty (hence playing around with novelty ROA) but I'd probably go without water to make sure. The direct flame probably wastes a fair bit too.
