Forth millionth time I have caused myself to get bronchitis. I am looking for ways to reduce the odds of contracting this pain in the chest condition.

Are there rolling papers with less harmful chemicals?

Is there a strain of Cannabis known to have a lower tar content?

Should I use filters like the ones on cigs?

Does a bong reduce tar wthout removing THC and other "good" chemicals?

What can a person do to prevent cilia from being killed?

Are there specific vitamins/foods that can improve respiratory health?

What is the Healthier Smoking Devices link?

I really will appreciate any info, help or advice. Have a nice day:) !

Hi TheHerojuana, please try asking less questions next time, it's a bit of a pain in the ass to try and answer 7 in one post. :)

The only papers I can think off are hemp papers and always look for the thinnest possible.

Not that I know off, however, how higher the thc content, how less you need to get high. Just look for the best quality you can find.

The unfiltered joint is according to a MAPS study the best way to smoke, it has a low tar to thc ratio.

Well, actually it doesn't.. The only thing actually a bong does is cooling down the smoke what reduces certain chemicals (chemicals that induce catatonia and surpress motor activity) and in a way is healthier as joints or blunts, it doesn't reduce the tar enough to be better as the unfiltered joint though.

What can a person do to prevent cilia from being killed?

Don't cover them with tar, so actually stop smoking anything carcinogenic, including weed.

Are there specific vitamins/foods that can improve respiratory health?

Not that I know of, but maybe someone else does..

What is the Healthier Smoking Devices link?

It's listed in the forum header, so on top of the page, it includes all of the MEGA threads. Healthier alternative smoking devices. :)

MOds disagree with me on this one and I don't care to argue, but old people always say that 'bush bud' or non-hydroponically grown or schwag, whatever its called, is better on your lungs than chronic. I don't know to what extent its true, but it cant hurt to try.

I take it you are also "old people", so I'll respect your suggestion.. Don't have to say it's true though, now that's a whole other thing.. :)

Dr. Weil reccomends anyone who smokes the green or drinks daily take a B-complex supplement every day, as both rob your body of B Vitamins.

it sounds like you are really concerned about the adverse effects this drug is having on you. If I cared that much i would quit smoking reefer period. I know its easier said than done but perhaps it is an option you should consider.

I never even knew that you can get anything from smoking! OMG...How often does this happen? and does it happen in people with really bad health or what? I smoke 1 bowl daily and I've been doing it for like 2 months so far...I hope I'm not in any danger!

Bronchitis as far as i know is a step beyond a cold. colds are viruses that spread through air. smoking weed cannot be the direct cause of bronchitis ...

Bronchitis is just an infection of your throat. It's a bacterial infections; the common cold is a virus. So yes, smoking weed can be the direct cause of bronchitis.

so weed is a bacteria now? marijuana cannot directly cause bronchitis.

smoke carries all sorts of bacteria and shit into your lungs/throat...it is also going to irritate the shit out of any pre-existing conditions/infections you may already have.

Smoking can indeed be the cause of bronchitis. It can be a bacterial infection, but not always I correct myself. Look:

Bronchitis is an inflammation of the bronchial tubes, or bronchi (the air passages that extend from the windpipe into the lungs). The inflammation may be caused by a virus, bacteria, smoking or the inhalation of chemical pollutants or dust."

Bronchitis Information

a proper vaporizer like the Volcano will eliminate smoking from your daily habits and still let you consume THC without getting bronchitis. worked for me, just had to wait a while before i could drop the cash for it.

My god the misinformation... lets clarify some things.

Bronchitis can in fact be caused by smoking (cigs pot whatever). Bronchitis isn't an infection of the throat but rather the bronchioles much deeper. The mechanism by which the infection is caused is secondary to the smoking. Smoking carries NO live bacteria into your lungs. Smoking DOES cause damage to airways and bronchioles particularly with low quality weed and lots of smoking. The damage in your bronchioles then allows bacteria commonly inhaled every day to cause an infection (bronchitis). In a healthy lung this common bacteria would be defended against by mucus and healthy epithelial tissue (which is damaged by smoking).

I would suggest not smoking as deeply. I would also suggest smoking higher quality pot so you dont smoke as much volume.

On a side note, be careful with the vitamin E. It is a great vitamin at reccommended dosages, but megadosing has been shown to increase carcinogenesis probobly by acting as a free radical on its own.
