Did he see it coming?
Or was it stealthy in it's stalking,
No footprints, no audible walking,
The haunting sound of silence,
But then, that old man, he turned around
And with terror nearly fell to the ground,
The thing, so horrid that made no sound,
Was looking at him with stormy eyes,
Whilst his eyes were pointed at the ground,
Please don't hurt me he cried
And it's silent laughter met with the sky,
It turned, he flinched, and it asked why,
If there was a reason, that he should not die,
The old worn man shook his head and sighed,
He couldn't think of any reason why.
