Opioids Shooting IR oxycodone

Hey,

I have a quick question regarding how to shoot instant release oxy pills, having never injected pills before. I did a quick search and didn't find any thread specifically answering my question (probably because it's so obvious) so apologies if this has indeed been asked before.
My question is pretty straightfoward really - I've been injecting heroin/cocaine for a while, so is this basically the same thing, as in do you just crush the pills, mix them with the water, filter (I would definitely get proper micron filters for this), and inject? I feel like there may be something more to it because of the wax etc. in the pills?

And please spare me the comments about the dangers of injecting. I know they come from a good place but there really isn't any point reminding me. I know the BA of injecting vs. chewing oxys isn't that beneficial but I'm considering this because 1. of the rush, and 2. I've really, reaaaally been craving injecting. I've been clean off smack for a month or so and would like for it to stay that way, and I feel like injecting my oxys would help with the heroin cravings.

Well, I'll be soft about this issue, but I just want to say that if you're expecting an intense rush on par with heroin or cocaine, you're going to be sorely disappointed. Oxycodone does not produce any rush-it just hits you immediately, but there's no butterfly's-in-the-stomach feeling or anything else that makes IV heroin/dilaudid/oxymorphone so incredible. However I understand your craving to inject a drug, even if it's not one most suitable for injection. (Hopefully you've never been so reckless in your intravenous experiments, but if you want an example of what IV oxycodone is comparable to, I would say IV gabapentin, Ambien, and Ritalin...in fact, IV oxy is to IV heroin, what IV Ritalin/methylphenidate is to IV coke)

Anyway, in regards to your question, I've only IV'd these twice, and it's basically just how you imagined it. Crush up the pill, dissolve it in water (make sure you know oxycodones' solubility in water is 160mg/mL, so you need to use at least .2mL/16mg if you're doing a larger shot) put it through a micron filter correctly, and then inject. Due to the filters in the pill you'll definitely want to use a micron as you intend to, probably the .25um filters would be the best size as it's the most efficient at getting rid of the nasty binders.

Be safe and hopefully rethink your actions! In the end I think that with proper micron filtration, IV oxycodone is safer than to go back to shooting heroin. If you go through with it I hope that you're satisfied enough to not want to just run out and score smack, but also underwhelmed enough that you decide to quit before you find yourself in serious trouble again. Take car my man.

^Great post I agree with everything said here, I won't be hard on you, but if you were my close friend in real life, someone who cared about you and the feeling was mutual, I would never allow you to inject oxycodone, it does NOT get any better than taking it orally. I've shot it so many times hoping for something, ANYTHING, but no, it's pointless. As a chronic pain patient, it's also less efficient for me because the duration is shortened dramatically for me.

for me IV oxycodone would kill pain for 1.5 hours and oral oxycodone would kill pain for 3. Simple math, simple logic, simple decision to make. But in the end its up to you to choose. DEFINITELY don't shoot ANYTHING without a micron filter.

Yeah but this is an extremely rare occurrence. It could have a similar psychological and physical relief as IV dilaudid but I really don't think oxycodone's capable of producing a rush. I mean I'm not calling you a liar but I've shot oxy a bunch of times and it was always a whole bunch of extra work and anxiety and I ALWAYS regretted not just swallowing the damned things since that's the way they are built to be most effective.

Znegative your comparisons to Ritalin/coke are helping to put things into perspective even though I've never injected Ritalin. You're certainly making it sound underwhelming though. I knew the rush wasn't anything like what you get from heroin but I did think there was something....oh well. It's just this craving to inject something has been kind of obsessing me lately.

Again thanks, if it really isn't better than oral at all I'll reconsider. But if I do decide to inject be sure I'll definitely be using a micron filter and stuff.
