*Note* This poem is dedication to my late grandfather, who died almost two years ago of heart failure. 50+ years of cigarette smoking took their toll on his body. May he rest well and enjoy his place with God...
Your grumpy attitude
Your lighthearted humor
Everything about you
Is still with me
You were the greatest
Someone to laugh with
Someone to talk to
Someone to hug
But you are no longer here
I still remember the day
Mother called from the hospital
She gave us all the news
Choked up in tears
I fell into darkness
Crying for the light
You were gone from this world
Off to a better place
So I couldn't be sad for long
Perhaps it was your time
To let go of your pain
And to be with God
To this day, I still remember
Your grumpy attitude
Your lighthearted humor
Because I feel
You are still with me

Your loss is one that is so hard I know even after 2 yrs your memories remain strong keep them tight and hold them near.
The heart fades but the missing never does hun
