Miscellaneous Shelf life of 2C-x drugs

I only saw one old thread so I thought I'd see about the community's knowledge of the shelf life of Shulgin-type drugs. Mainly 2C-E and 2C-I. They're coming up on 15 years old. They've been stored at room temperature except for very short periods, in sealed vials in the dark. MXE stored similarly has been tested and is fine, I'm just a little more cautious about testing psychedelics that would last several hours.

I've taken some OLD pharmaceuticals, so I know things last. I've taken 100-year-old phenobarbital that still worked as expected, at least 70-80% manufactured purity. And I have no idea how that had been stored for at least 99 of the years.

I have a 21 year old cap of 19 mgs of 2C-E. I am sure it will work when I get to it. Phenethylamine have been said to be very stable. Mescaline in very old cactus is just fine too. From experience 20 year old cactus worked as well as fresh. I know it has been said but they will outlast us. I remember someone that had a lot of 2C's some years ago and I said what are you going to do with that all and he said hand it down to the next generation.

I found a 5 mg diazepam in a drawer out in the open, could have been there years. And when I took it it felt stronger than a regular 5 mgs. lol

I really do think things like antibiotics and penicillin are the ones that expire. I am willing to bet any drug lasts years. Especially 2C's. Even the tryptamines seem stable but are known to degrade so it really comes to storage with that. Dark, airtight and kept cool.

God to hear. That's basically the assumption that I operated under, that only antibiotic (and antifungal, etc.) type drugs really expire or have a change of potency in a few years. Creams too. I just wasn't sure if I should include RC/random powders in with pills, but it seems like that's reasonable.

I do think my 4-Aco-Dmt may have browned a bit over time, but the 2Cs are still white (and fluffy I think). MXE still fresh looking too. All my pills look same as new, even decades old.

My fiance and I used to use 2C-B by pouring a gram or so out and breaking it down over the next 4-6 weeks with our mouths and noses. This small mountain of 2C-B would just sit on a glass butter dish out in the light/atmospheric exposure of a living room, occasionally catching meaningful heat or humidity but it was a winter in Maine when we were doing this, so it never exceeded ~70 degrees F I'd guess.

To this day, that batch of 2C-B has experienced no noticeable degradation even at super low doses, and it's been a couple of years and a lot of exposure to ridiculous environments. An old friend of mine would sandwich 2C-B in with his cannabis and vaporize it, noticeably from the outside experiencing a psychedelic experience that seems to be quite unique from the oral/intranasal RoAs with 2C-B. The concept of inhaling bromine though has me all set, I'll vape DOM some time soon though to see how that goes.

I've had numerous 4-Substituted tryptamines brown over time without seemingly losing any potency, so fingers crossed there!

Phenethylamines like the 2C-X or DOx are stable molecules in normal storage conditions, i.e. dark & dry, no extreme heat. I remember reading about archeologists detecting mescaline in several thousand year old cups. So in theory they could last 10 000 years. Some of my tryptamines do not look nice any more, does anyone know if they usually break down to inert material or toxic compounds?
