Do you enjoy certain settings/places when rolling? Do you "prepare" a room in order to stimulate your senses?

I do enjoy the rave scene, but I prefer more intimate settings, either alone or with close people, friends, siblings, boyfriend, which makes for a "connection" kinda experience as opposed to the euphoria/dancing.

In summer, it's all about the outdoors, going to a park by the lake, but with winter around the corner, having a nice setting at home is the way to go.

Setting? closed curtains, a dim light, christmas lights on the walls, pillows and blankets with different textures and patterns, music (the type of music depending on the mood and purpose of the roll), incense and water and fruits to snack on.

What about you, people? Any elaborate settings? Any preferences?

Peace!

Outdoors is rad, and I love big parties or festivals...anything with tons of people and lots of excitement. Since I'm not very social in my daily life, I prefer big gatherings outside of my house for E trips.

If I'm rolling at home, I like to have a coloring book, Pop Rocks, all my CDs, my laptop, a pen and paper for drawing/writing down insights, glow sticks and plenty of water/Powerade to keep me hydrated. A little weed and poppy tea sets things off nicely as well :)

Hadn't thought of a colouring book! I should get one. Funny thing, I never even thought of drawing while rolling. Have done it on shroomies and Lucy... but used whatever I found as a canvas (hard drive, t-shirt, etc)... guess getting a colouring book will be on my list.

I prefer a more intimate setting as well despite being a kandi raver. I generally buy four glowsticks -- two for me and two for my girl. Sometimes I'll spin a couple sets for us if I'm not too fucked up, but generally I AM too fucked up and I can't keep focused enough to beatmatch 8) Generally that's the only preparation I take. If I've managed to chew through a binkie, I buy a couple more. If I need cigs for my girl, we get cigs (I'll buy myself I pack of menthols even though I don't smoke normally). We dance around and talk and dress ourselves up and the night generally ends with crazy lesbian sex.

I like rolling inside. Outside I get worried about running into people that AREN'T rolling and that's always awkward. My favourite setting is definitely home, although I have to say the beach is the best outdoor setting.

I've been a club and rave roller exclusively- but on a whim, we decided to roll on our camping trip this past summer. It was absolutely the best setting I've rolled in- close friends, our own stereo, shooting stars, camp fire, dogs to pet, lots of sand to play with, and a river next to a gorgeous mountain. It was the last time I rolled actually, and it was probably my most "magical" roll to date. =)

I prefer to roll at raves and clubs. When I roll LOUD music is absolutly a must. Also lots of people have to be there. I don't like rolling with just a couple people. I like rolling with hundreds of people (: that's why I prefer rolling at raves.

I don't mind lots of people when it's lots of cool people. Most of these newer raves I go to everyone's very elitist and picks on rolling people. Even the kandi ravers tend to be uppity and judgmental (talking shit about people that are learning to do lightshows, talking shit about someone's outfit). It is the most appalling thing I have seen. I miss when it was about freedom of expression, the music, and having fun. All this drama of the culture and the cliquishness is not the scene I remember. Maybe I was just young, but I'll stick to being at home.

in a club with some trance/house for sure.. can't stand being outside or walking around really.. music is a must for me as wel

Hardstyle - what are your xperiences with rolling at a more hardstyle/hard dance themed event?

I don't listen to hard flavors so I'm not sure if I'd like rolling to an event with lots of hard

I love rolling at raves. I get to meet many new people every time and get to see my close rave friends too. Plus, there's overwhelming amounts of bass that I get to stomp and shuffle to. There are always some people at raves who bring bad vibes though :/
