Server Downtime - Thursday 15 may 2008 02:00-04:00 (CEST)

From our server host:

Due to hardware malfunctions on the AMS-IX (the major internet traffic
hub for the Netherlands) from 15:00 CEST and onward, there have been service disruptions for most Dutch websites, including ours. Some Dutch access providers, most notably KPN and Tiscali, seem to experience the most severe connectivity problems. There is no estimated time for remedy.




As the cause of the disruptions is not on our network, there is no action we can take to mitigate this issue. We will keep monitoring the status of the network, and apologize for any inconvenience.

Just an FYI for those of you experiencing timeouts and such. You can always check other sites on your continent to see if they load fine, and if so you can be more comfortable that it is on our server end and not yours Sorry we can't give better info than this, but it's what we have for now (better than nothing, eh?).

Reason behind this - some server data issues getting sorted. This should not effect anything we see or do (other than, of course, having it off line for a few hours), so coming back up life will return to normal.

On thursday 15 may 2008 02:00-04:00 (CEST), Slik's network partner (Bluelight's IP transit carrier) will perform a capacity upgrade of fibre cable between Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Network traffic may be disrupted or slowed down for 15 minutes

Again, only 15 minutes but at least we can tell you ahead of time
