Serotonin Syndrome? Adderall + Strong Cannabis Edbile

So here's my story:

On friday at noon, I took my prescribed dose of adderall xr 20 mg. I have a pretty low tolerance to it considering I only take it 3 times a week or so.

At about 5 p.m., my IBS was getting out of hand, so I took a very strong prescribed Indica Marijuana edible. I have zero tolerance to medical marijuana, mainly because I just recently got my medical marijuana prescription renewed and I have not used cannabis in about 8 months.

About 3 hours later, the adderall starts to kick in more and the edible hits me HARD. I started feeling panicky. The adderall and edible was a horrible combination. I become very anxious, for no apparent reason, other than the fact that this feeling was extremely overwhelming and uncomfortable. I start having bad anxiety.

For the next 4+ hours I am having horrible anxiety. The only thing I could do was talk to friends online and text. I could barely move and was too afraid to get up. I finally get up and look at the mirror and notice my pupils were HUGE. Usually my pupils dilate only a little bit on adderall (not noticeable at all), but my pupils looked like I just got back from the ophthalmologist.

After about another 2 hours, I start to calm down, adderall wears off, cannabis high is still noticeable. I noticed I was shivering for a while, then I got sweaty and hot, felt very much confused and disoriented, and I felt very restless and slept very lightly.

The next morning my pupils were still somewhat noticeably dilated, and they have been like that ever since.

So my question is, does anyone believe this combination could have caused mild serotonin syndrome?

Honestly that combination felt like I was on a high dose of MDMA. It was the same feeling I was getting as if someone was constantly pushing on my head/brain.

I also recently took a percocet 30 milligram to constrict my pupils. It did not work have any affect on them, but it usually gives me very small pupils. So feel like there is something wrong. It also didn't give me much of a high, even though I have low tolerance to opiates.

Sounds just like an anxiety attack. Both amphet and weed have negligible serotonergic effects, and i've never heard of anyone getting serotonin syndrome from the combination. Maybe in future think before you dose, and don't take a 'very strong dose' when you have 'zero tolerance', particularly when you are combining it with another drug.

I have personally watched a few friends go through the exact same experience. They were both new to taking adderall or any stimulant tor the most part and their experience with weed wasn't to impressive. One day the two of them decided to try 30mg of adderall for the first time and smoke a good quantity of weed. About an hour later I got a call from one of them saying he thought he needed to go to the hospital.

Long story Short, both of them suffered from some wickid anxiety attacks brought on by the combo of weed and amphetamines. Its not uncommon for this mix to cause some very uncomfortable anxiety. Serotonin syndrome is out of the question however. Unless you were slipped something besides cannabis and adderall.

It's not serotonin syndrome. As nAON and Cloroxtastebad both mentioned, you probably took way too high of a dose of cannabis and an amphetamine. Both of these drugs can cause panic attacks by themselves.

oral use of canabis is a LOT stronger than smoking.. cannabis can cause anxiety in prone individuals as well anyway regardless of roa.. that's all.. I don't believe anything serotegernic occurred
